Misha Ge suggests "7th Country World Alliance" for WTT

    Thought this was interesting:

P.S. about World Team Trophy . Why not add additional 7th Country " Worlds Skaters Alliance " for skaters from small countries ? #support!
And then it will be like 7 Wonders , 7 Teams of Skaters =)
#WTTWSA - 7th Team in Future, on World Team Trophy "Worlds Skaters Alliance " Support it !!! P.S. invited by - ISU+Audients Votes !
#WTTWSA think about it strong team! Men:Brizina,Javi,Denis(all good )/Ladies:Kopri,Yuna?/Pair:Savchenko-Szokowy/Ice Dance:Zhiganshina-Gazsi?
There much more choices of great skaters for #WTTWSA , but i just gave example how it can look like . It can be very strong team !
It's an interesting idea, for sure -- but not sure if it would work. The biggest question for me would be 1.) What sort of cohesion/flat could this alliance stand behind, "Go smaller federations?!" 2.) What would be the criteria as far as choosing skaters?

Highest scoring skater/team at Worlds, per discipline, from a 7 feds country.

    So this year's team:
    Michal Brezina CZE
    Denis Ten KAZ
    Kexin Zhang CHN
    Elene Gedevanishvilli GEO
    Savchenko & Szolkowy GER
    Zhiganshina & Gaszi GER

I just don't think that a "world team" could work logistically. All other Olympic team events, e.g. team gymnastics, relay swimming, relay track, only count as one medal in terms of country medal counts. Which country would get credit for a medal earned by the world team? I don't think the IOC would approve the awarding of four separate medals for each gold, silver and bronze team.

Well, maybe not for the Olympics, but they could do it in the ISU's World Team Trophy which is more of a just for fun event.

Wow, I had the same idea: an ISU Team as 7th contestant at WTT.
