Thanks, Deedee1! You made me feel as though I was there. It must have been such an exhilarating experience. It sounds as if the skaters had as much fun as the audience, too. How great that not only the audience but also the other skaters were supportive of whoever was on the ice.

I think it would also be better to have the event at the beginning of the season, about two weeks befor the GP starts.
