I think something that runs the full gamut of emotions for her would be great. She can be perky, flirtatious, and dramatic!

I'd love to see her skate to classical music that is emotionally rich as well! It would also be nice if she can stay away from role playing because I think she's wonderfully musical and can very well expand her musical horizon/understanding even further by experimenting with non-program music.
This Tschaikovsky Trio op. 50 is one of my favourite Romantic pieces. It's emotionally sweeping and musically rich. Definitely skateable music. I think she may have the maturity and sensitivity to pull it off:

What is the music? Sounds like from the days of Japan's great dominance, pride filled. It suited Midori, but Akiko? No, not so much
I was listening to Delibes Coppelia Waltz and his Coppelia Mazurka, which would be beautiful, should she stay with waltz/ballet music. I think an epic movie track that is current or well known to get the crowd behind her. But what? HMMM.
If someone can skate to Midori's music, I think it's Akiko. Imagine Akiko's step sequence to the drum beats.
Akiko has that "I so happy" look, which should go well with this.
All of her good programs have been fun and upbeat. I can't see her skating to Meditation de Thais (too sweet) or Danse Macabre (Yuna owned that one)
How about the soundtrack from Rent?
Akiko loves upbeat and dancy music so something like this? :

She could also be a great Giselle.
I just noticed that Akiko really must like musicals. For the last three years, she skated to Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, and Die Fliedermaus (which is essentially an Austrian musical).
Some Chopin is also nice for her.

So far I'd like to see her skate to Giselle out of the choices. She can tackle a lot of ballet music given her footwork abilities.
I just recently found this piece by a Japanese composer. I think it has a melancholy sound to it. Akiko would definitely pull it off because her skating is so light.

This is so lovely DS. Thanks for sharing. I hope Akiko finds some unique piece like this. Just beautiful. Tempo may be a little slow for her, but she can skate to any music-most musical lady on the scene, I think.
