I am thinking that the Sp in Detroit for Osmond had issues. Seemed like she got better as the week went on in the Free (91, 100). This was her first time out this season. She is at Wild Rose next weekend. As for under the 50 mark, she did score more than 50 at Canadians and JW. I haven't seen any videos of the Detroit competition. Did anyone see her there to be able to comment on her skating skills?

See the Skate Detroit thread.
I think she has improved considerably from last season, and that her skating skills are just fine.

Not too bad of a result overall for the first time out. Osmond's relative consistency + jump content probably does make her the best young skater Canada has had come through in awhile. I also hope she's realistic about where she's at and her GP results don't hurt her confidence, though. She could very well win Canadians this year.

I do think that Osmond is the favourite to win Canadians this year.
Phaneuf has her injury issues and Lacoste seems completely unable to land a toe jump at the moment. Lacoste often pops her lutz and flip into singles and does not attempt the toe loop at all. If Osmond is at her best she'll beat the Najarro/Descantis/Charbonneau easily as well.
Unlike Dragonlady, I think that Osmond should be on the senior circuit because it is very likely she'll be our representative at worlds. As well SC must ramp up the international assignments for the younger skaters (JGPs and perhaps other lesser junior and novice events as well ). Last year was a completely lost year for development ( sending Najarro on the JGP last year given her multiple failures internationally was a joke ). A skater like Daleman would have used the opportunity better.
SC must focus more on the ones Osmond's age and younger as those that are older are not going anywhere.

I agree with Nadster that Osmond should be on the SGP. She also should get a senior B. Right now she is the only Canadian lady with the minimum TES score for Worlds. To put her on the JGP and then expect her to do senior worlds would not be beneficial.
From looking at the first 2 JGP assignments (Sequin, Chartrand) and Osmond to SGP, it looks like SC are looking more at development and looking past this Olympic cycle with hopes to have a competitive group prior to 2018.
I agree with Nadster that SC has to try to use Junior and Novice developmental competitions and utilise US comps as well.

Any updates out of minto or Alberta on the ladies? No video of osmond on the live streaming. Sequin seems to have done ok. Chartrand seems to be struggling

Seguin had the highest total score (134.64, 82.49 FS) of the ladies who competed junior at Minto. Her FS was nearly clean, with a 3Z combo, 3F, 3Lo, 3t+2T, 3S, 3T and 2A. If she skates as well at Courchevel, she could be in contention for a medal.
Chartrand had the third highest junior score at Minto (110.90, 73.25 FS), but really struggled in the FS. She led off with 3Z, 3F, 3Lo, but fell on a downgraded second lutz, fell on a 3T, and fell on a downgraded 3Lo. The competition at Lake Placid is a bit tougher than Courchevel's, so Chartrand needs to work on her stamina if she is to have a good showing there.

I notice sequin missing a lot of levels on spins. Perhaps she and coach need to review or get feedback
No info online about wildrose. No results or live stream for junior or senior ladies

SC has Daleman posted for JGP in Austria. Good to see they are sending the younger ones. Hopefully she will up her scores at Thornhill from Detroit

Yes, Daleman will have to up the ante from 109.43 to finish well at the Linz JGP.
Last year, the range of lowest JGP scores for each finish position:
3rd: 141.84-153.84 average 146.73
6th: 123.20-133.33 average 130.52
10th: 106.90-120.27 average 114.83

The New FS of Amelie Lacoste (not a fan of the blond hair, she looks better in brown
) I think that it's an improvment considering she did the triple lutz and the triple flip.

Oh, I like the blonde and wearing it up gives her a more classy refined look. I sure do hope she gets those toe jumps licked.

I am not a fan of Lacoste. Watching the performance, I think the judges gave very high PCS marks for a so-so performance. She didn't even rotate her best jump - 3 loop.
After the first few comps of the season, Osmond seems to have improved drastically - technically and performance.
Will be interesting in a couple of months to see how these two skaters progress and go head to head at skate Canada GP.

Myriane's new SP since her injury! If SC is choosing a lady, I still hope it's Samson.
