So far beyond adorable. Good luck to Maddie. Karen Kwan wins most genuine lady award. Such a smile.

^ It was linked on the front page of the USFSA site.

Here is my favorite line from the narration:

"That was the best week of my life -- SO FAR!!!"

LOL, that was great...she skated pretty well. I hope she puts up progress videos. I didn't know Charlie Tickner was a tech specialist, liked his skating, I recall.

What a lovely video! I was as excited as Maddie to see all the wonderful skating luminaries. And her coach is Charlie Tickner! He was one of my favorite American skaters.

Sidenote: Kristi has become simply gorgeous, hasn't she? She was always a nice-looking girl, but now she's luminous.

I know! Not to be a shallow sexist or anything, but in her competitive days she was, OK, maybe an 8. But now --WHOA!

And that's "whoa" in the literal sense -- she stops you dead in your tracks.

Oh Please MM , I know your thing is numbers but please don't rate women as a number! Schocked and appalled (LOL-but I really hate that-like what Zuckerburg did at Harvard when he got dumped by his girlfreind makes me hate him forever-you know what I refer to?)

Suffice to say she is a beautiful Japanese-American woman. It makes one hate her-most lucky lady in sport-or is that MK? LOL

We know you don't see people that way really, Math!

I have a friend who got to meet the SOI people maybe ten years ago. She described the experience to me. She said that Kurt was very nice (no surprise), while Tara seemed completely isolated from the others. (She has recalled feeling like a fish out of water while touring with SOI, because she was so much younger than everyone else.) And, my friend said, Kristi was like a superstar. All the fans flocked around her as moths around a flame. That description changed the way I viewed Kristi. From then on I was much more aware of her central position in American skating.

Geez, Mathman. You know you shouldn't rate women's physical beauty on a numerical scale. You should only start threads that make lists of female skaters who are the best looking.

Speaking of Kristi Yamaguchi, did you all know that there is a sequel to Dream Big, Little Pig (featured in the opening shot of Maddie B.'s video) out now?

In It's a Big World, Little Pig our heroine Poppy goes to the World Games in Paris, far from her home in New Pork City. Who ever knew that there were so many different kinds of people in the world to make friends with! Here she meets a fellow figure skater and a speed skater from distant lands. Your challenge: guess which countries they represent?

The figure skater came from Japan, and the speed skater was Australian!

MM, I had to share the Maddie video with some friends, on FB and through private e-mails for those not on FB, and the reaction has been so positive. This includes people who attended Nationals but who don't necessarily post on fs message boards. They all loved it, so thanks again!
