    Red Nails and Black Skates

I've just started reading this book:

I can't say how much I think devoted figure skating fans should read this book. I promise this is not a commercial message. I am not the author, nor do I know her. (I swear on Tonya; ha, does that diminish my credibility?)

I'm barely through the first chapter so far, but this is the most interesting read on our sport I've so far encountered. It is "academic" only in the slightest. It is smart without being exclusionary.

P.S. I can't remember anyone one posting on this before. I apologize if I'm repeating old news.

She's a lovely woman and for someone who started as a true adult, a pretty good skater.

Thanks Pepe. There was a thread recently on FSU. Although I haven't read it, it appears to be a fascinating read. Please let us know more as you go.

Thanks for the information. Seems like a great read. I'll check out the shipping costs and maybe order a few more books. As for US declining interest in figure skating, how come so much literature on the subject?
