It's very likely that Chan won't skate clean. If Chan has two quads and falls twice, will it be enough against Plushenko's quadless clean skate? That's what I'm curious to see.

Yes, it's the biggest question....

Plushy has arrived to Tokyo
Some reports from airport.
Zhenya came to Japan with Mishin and Yana. He was in a pretty good mood. He and Mishin made funny faces to fans and waved from inside the bus.))
There was an another group - Yagudin, Leonova, Morozov and Dmitrenko (who is that? Dmitri Dmitrenko? I don't know ). They came on the same flight.
All Russians together went to Saitama by bus. But Team Plushy rode in the back of bus (backmost). And Team Morozov sat in the front.

Other airport reports from twitter.
- Zhenya was in super-high spirits. Very lively.
- When Russians were waiting for the bus, Zhenya was chewing gum with a veeery bad face.. So, he looked like a bad boy today (than Yags).

It's true that chan won't have as much advantage on Pcs and plushenko will likely get all nines like 2010 JO and chan will have to have the quads and could win bib what if the 3a is not there. Should be a narrow competition based really on jump success maybe.

Thanks!

Buttle first is as expected. He is the youngest and currently the most active skater among all the men there. But Kurt is the second! Wow! Can't wait to see their programs on youtube!

MWO sounds amazing, I hope to see the videos uploaded soon. I'm so happy to have a pro competition back, I missed them. :)

Some of Mao's practice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ifP6Vi3SFA&feature=youtu.be

Nice 3A at 0:28! I wonder if she'll try it in the competiton. She looks to be in form :)

So happy to see 3F-3L-2L('Tano) out of steps, as the last jumping pass no less! And I totally thought that 3A was a 2A!: I only noticed it was a 3A when I watched the clip frame-by-frame. Great attempt, looked fully rotated (which made me confuse it with a 2A in the first place). :)

I don't think Mao'll go for it here; her planned jump layout is 3Lo, 2A-3T, 3F, 3Lz, 3S, 3Lo-2Lo, 3F-2Lo-2Lo ('Tano). Although Mao did practice 3A in place of 2A-3T, I think she might keep 3A in the SP only this season... Nobuo Sato mentioned some time ago that it's important to keep things easy now that Mao is not a young girl anymore and try to avoid injuries before the Olympics.

Actually I was quite impressed that Patrick could be first with three falls last year at Japan Open. I loved that performance! I still do. Even recently I went back to watch his that performance again.

I remember Patrick's first Aranjuez very well too. ;) JO is the first opportunity to see the new programs of some of the top skaters. And hopefully new costumes. :) I can't wait.

Very excited that we get to watch Daisuke and Patrick’s new programs soon. It would be even better if Jeremy also skates here.
