Jason put the 3A in in both programs at a small competition earlier in the summer. Whether he will do so here? We'll know soon.

Is Mirai Nagasu ‏@mirai_nagasu feeling OK? She just sent this tweet:

Colds suck. Runny noses sore throats and congestion? Germs everywhere? Yummy.
11:06 AM - 3 Aug 12

But ... no telling whether she is reacting to being around someone else with a cold or whether she has a cold of her own at the moment.

What a great SP Dornbush skated. He keeps that up this season & he'll be back on the podium at Nationals.

Major step up. Hope his long looks strong. With Weir and maybe Evan back the competition is going to be tough.

Nagasu looked great as well. Lam and Hicks have a tough battle with Polina, Gracie and Chen.

Senior Ladies FS won by Vanessa Lam with 107.88. Mirai had 99.92, Hicks 96.29. Vanessa even with a couple mistakes nearly caught Mirai for the overall. Less than a point separated the final result.

Don't know all of the mens results but I spoke with Keegan's mom. Keegan placed 11th in the FS, 10th overall. It was definitely not his best she said. Said his legs felt like lead. Heard he wasn't feeling well at Liberty so I hope he isn't getting sick with something icky :(

You'll get them next time Keegan :)

Loved Moore Towers and Moscowitz showing - plenty of attack is what they need and of course consistency. Anyone has their LP video?

Great competition. This made my weekend.

Nagasu looks like a woman. This is her best program to date. Hope she can clean up her landings on the second part of the program but, realistically she is going to need a 7-triple jump program if she wants to get back on top. And she would need to do this at her GP assignments to build a strong reputation with the judges.

Lam is way to stiff

Hicks has a rather strange technique not sure she can climb ahead of Polina, Gracie and Hannah

Dornbush is looking sharp. Not sure how I feel with the free skate but, the short was great.

Jason-looks too much like a girl to me, not sure if it's the pony tail or that extremely feminine music. He is despreately going to need that 3-axel.

Some of the other guys had great skates. Kudos to Sean and Grant

Armin is looking pretty good as well as Farris (youtube brought me to the LA competition from July) so I am comparing all of them.

A good start to the season for Nagasu. She looked more determined here than in any competition last season. Her score was surprisingly low, though. I'm guessing her 3Toe in combination must have gotten a < .

Mirai's LP on the other hand is a mess.

Starting from the first lutz, it feels like she had no choreography going afterward. Any of her movements had no relation to the music, at all. And then the next 2A-3T was just randomly there, it was like she's skating to a different tune. Wow, what a hopeless FS.

Even Miki's Morosov-stamped program seemed 1000x better choreographed.

I'm thinking maybe the problem is Mirai's inability to do complex choreography. Her programs start to look exactly the same with simple crossovers thrown in. I thought Lori was the problem, giving her uninspired craps to work with.
