This year's Nebelhorn field is the toughest I have ever seen! For the gold, I think Sotnikova is the obvious favourite, I predict a fight Shelepen vs Zhang vs Imai for the other medals... Predictable results in Pairs: easy win for Volosozhar-Trankov, silver for Bazarova-Larionov, bronze Denney-Coughlin. I'm very interested in Oda: is he still a high-level competitor? Will he fight against Brezina and Verner for the Gold? I really hope we're not seeing another R. Shoji... I hope Chock-Bates will skate well their Doctor Zivago, I watched their practice video and it looked a great program! For the other medals, the battle is quite open: a year ago, Monko-Khaliavin would have been the favourites for the Bronze, I think they'll have to fight with the Canadians, especially, and it won't be easy...

Oda is in the fight of his life with such a strong Japanese men field He must feel the pressure even if he doesn't say it. I think Caroline Zhang could potentially wtn over Sotnkova. She is a more mature skater than the Russian and if her jumps hold up. Sotnikova has also had growth issues and I am not so sure she is consistent or stable enough at this point. I do think V and T are the class of the field in pairs. In dance I see a dog fight for bronze and the Canadians will see early on who is the better of the two teams - I do think though these Canadian teams will be off the podium at their nationals - I think Gilles and Porier are Canada's no. 3 team behind Virtue and Moir and Weaver and Poje.

I really hope there will be a live streaming or at least an official YouTube channel (like the Challenge Cup's one), that webcam is always on, we can't watch the competition from there...

One more comment from the audience (it's not me! I am not there): "Oda-san is in an excellent shape. Saved quite a few off-the-axis jumps easily. Landed several 3As without a problem. Was having troubles with a 3A with a difficult entrance (a spread eagle variation) for some time, but finally landed that one too. Did a triple with both arms up. Toward the end of the practice landed a couple of 4+3s (the triple might have been a tiny bit UR)."

Wow, I really hope he's back in good shape... He's always been one of the best men of the world (in my opinion), but he has never showed it in the important events, I really hope he will have a good season, with medals both in the GP and the ISU Championships...

Wow, I really hope he's back in good shape... He's always been one of the best men of the world (in my opinion),

Oda is one of the best and has the best and consistent 3A.

but he has never showed it in the important events, I really hope he will have a good season, with medals both in the GP and the ISU Championships...

He has shown his talents in many important events, often too much, and handed the gold medal over, mostly to Takahashi. I'm not sure if special COP math class would help him. I truly wish he will win a Worlds medal before calling it a career.
