Not a shocker for me. Kaetlyn loves performing and she trains in a huge mall with people watching all the time so nerves is not a problem. She is technically very strong. All she needs is some seasoning and maturity. But right now, young energetic programs work well for her. Kudos!

Heekin-Canedy & Dun, Z&G, & Z&S got the minimum TES for both SD & FD and are qualified for Worlds.
C&B now have the TES in the FD to qualify them for worlds, & since they already had it for the SD from Salt Lake, they are good to go for Worlds now, too. P&I made the TES at Salt Lake in both programs (and repeated the feat for the FD here)>

M&K, R&H, and Bernardi & Mior also got the minimum TES of 39 in the FD and need to do better in their next international SD competition.

Yay Kaetlyn Osmond! I liked her from last year so I am glad she did well here! Definitely a confidence booster for her and for the Canadian ladies program. Hopefully there will be some vids of her progams here. Good job Kaetlyn!!

Congratulations to Keegan Messing & Stephen Carriere who both placed ahead of Verner & Brezina. I am so proud of are US men who don't make the World team but have the talent to compete against some of the best in the world. On to Finlandia with Dornbush & Weir.

So proud of Keegan & Stephen. In fact, I'm so proud of all of our US men so far competing in "B" events. On to Finlandia with Dornbush & Weir.

That is one very strange combination of music pieces - whose idea was it to mix Historia de un Amor with Safri Duo?!

This is a skater who basically makes the podium at every event she enters. If that is not a sign of consistency I need to learn the real meaning of this word.
I always thought nerves was not about the crowd present but the skater looking at a win and then not performing because of pressure on themselves. Which is seemingly what Sotnikova's problem is. There were few people at Nebelhorn but Sotnikova still made a lot of errors that placed her second and cost her a win. She lost her lead from the SP. She has been very consistent in making mistakes that cost her a lot since she became a senior. Russian nationals 2012 being something she won but not really that impressively, lost to Lipnitskaya in the FS. Her nerves in competition are wild and out of control in free skates.

reminds me of another talented Russian skater, wasn't that Maria Butyrskaya's problems ?
nerves get into her scores thus she mostly just can't hold it up in the FS

I basically agree about the nerves control, but she didn't make "a lot of mistakes": she landed five clean triples and three double axels in her programs, she just fell two times and popped one jump: 7 of her 10 jumps were good! And her spins are just (excpet the biellmann in the FS)!

Keegan didn't fall on the quad, he had a random fall after his amazing split jump...
