I've watched and re-watched many of these , but I'm too tired to pore over the protocols right now..However just looking at the dances ,and the detailed results , http://www.isuresults.com/results/jgpfra2012/SEG006.HTM

I must say I think both K/S and E/B were gifted somewhat... lots of clambering in and out of position...meh..

I think my darling Zombies might have deserved better, here...

Happy for E/P and for P/C..I like Z/S as skaters but they seemed quite ponderous ( my dislike of "Cats" might be interfering with my judgement , IDK ...) They're nice , polished skaters , but this program certainly doesn't float my boat.

I'll have to come back later.

I'm waiting for the playlist to be updated.

It's very nice to watch all of them back to back!
I watched all the SD's this morning, and McNamara & Carpenter still make me smile. And although they are a bit slow, Moore & Klaber did a great job of conveying the spirit of 1950's high school in their Grease SD. Good choreo in there.

I find I like Evdokimova & Bazin, respect but don't like Zenkova & Sinitsin, and didn't like Papadakis & Cizeron as much as I expected.

I'm very happy that I nailed the predictions for once for the medallists, at least!

One thing that we all need to look at is the RADICAL change in the way the SD is scored.

As to the Zombies, they are such cute babies:

    Lorraine
    Feb. 18, 1999 (she's 13)

    Quinn
    Feb. 24, 1996 (he's 16)

And they have an official website.

doris , I was going to take the dogs , but you've prompted me..

I completely agree with your sentiments

..Z/S kind of leave me lukewarm ..I find I must appreciate and admire lots of things about their skating , but there's no spark of life there..it's sort of more of a demonstration than a performance.

P/C have gone a bit too " wild speed demon " for me. Although I still like them a lot ( and prefer them to Z/S ) , this isn't quite what I'd hoped to see from them. So , I'm happy for them , but not quite satisfied.

E/P seemed in better control with their speed, and that program is full of interesting stuff. Not crazy about that music.. not terribly memorable to me , but it's not offensive ... and I was so interested in what they were doing , I really didn't notice it.. very good outing and I'm looking forward to JGP Bosphorus for them...

I felt the same about M/C's music and program. Not in love with the music , but lots to love in the skating. ( I could think e.e.cummings coined the word "floatful" just for her )

E/B I really feel potential for..but thought that program was quite a mish-mash ( and still preferred it to K/S )

Not unexpected---RUS on the Tech Team and UKR, RUS and BLR on a 7-judge panel.

Well, that tech panel was surely tough on the SD

    except for Z&S...

Did anyone recognize the French songs that Elizabeth & Le Gac used for the FD?

and here's the baby Zombies website:

    http://mcnamara-carpenter.ice-dance.com/

I just wish Lorraine didn't wear over the boot tights in the FD ....

I hardly noticed the tights, must go back and take another look. They're adorable anyhow.

For their first JGP, especially with their young age among the rest of the ice dancers, 6th place is a great finish for M/C! Especially considering how close they were out of 4th. I hope they'd get another solid assignment (since I know the US has them assigned to Turkey provisionally for now I think), but I don't know how many dance teams the US has waiting that might have a chance. It'll be interesting to see how the other Wheaton teams do since Pogrebinsky/Gudis, Parsons/Parsons, and Miller/Macmillan also have assignments.

"Je m'voyais déjà" and "La Bohème" by Charles Aznavour.
