what is happening to Ogoreltseva ? she used to be very good doing hard jumps now she almost got beaten here by a not so well known and gets regularly beaten by Sakhanovich and Medvedeva. looks like the puberty monster hit her before she can go to Junior Grand Prix next season, we'll see its still early of the season but a bit disappointed

Ogoreltseva tried 3Lo+3Lo tvice - at SP and at FS. Both had downgraded second jump. She has also 3Lz<< and 3T<< and one fall in FS.
She grows, it is her problem. I remember her as very miniature girl, now she is much taller.
Alina Karavaeva landed 3Lo+3Lo in SP. It would be very good, but her problem - "baby jumps", very low.
They wrote that Anastasia KOLOMIETS was good - nice skating, high level of skating skills.

On October 5-7 in the Palace of winter sports "Iceberg" in Sochi will pass test preolympic competitions on figure skating "Federation Cup". Among participants medal-winners of the Worlds Yuko KAVAGUTI / Alexander SMIRNOV and Artur GACHINSKI are declared. Names of all skaters who will skate in Sochi, to a portal of TEAM RUSSIA-2014 were told by the president of Federation of figure skating of Russia, Olympic champion Alexander Gorshkov.
«We suggested to act on "Federation Cup" in Sochi to all skaters – to get acquainted with new Olympic object, - Alexander Gorshkov told. – But as some international events are carried out at the same terms – in Finland, Slovakia and Japan, naturally, some leaders can not arrive. The main task of the upcoming competitions – to check readiness of the Palace of winter sports "Iceberg" before the Grand Prix Final and the championship of Russia. At competitions at Sochi there will be also representatives of the ISU. Also to Sochi may arrive skaters and coaches of Russian national team who won't participate at these competitions, but will study object, will try ice – and will make the offers how to improve something. We created the list of participants of "Federation Cup" a month ago therefore may be minor changes. In doubt, for example, Konstantin Menshov's participation who will take place in Oberstdorf (Germany). It is unclear, whether he can sustain two competitions in a row».
