Im thinking for the first time Bobrova/Soloviev might have a chance of beating Weaver/Poje and Pechalat/Bourzat
I think normally PCS goes higher as the season goes on , lol

Well, Weaver and Poje have a beautiful FD. Very different concept from Bob/Sol
I think that a lot of it will come down to tech. I'm not expecting anything from the judges though - I feel like they may need a bit of time to start giving Bobrova and Soloviev higher PCS.

Thanks - added to list on Post 90 above

Greetings from the arena. Bad words from many of you. I saw Kiira's program live and it's one of the best programs I've ever seen. Such a mature, graceful, clean and strong skating. Real art. You can't even compare Julia's and Kiira' skating, a girl and a lady I would say. I had tears in my eyes almost the whole program, it was just a piece of heaven.

I love Kiira's skating, but I find her inconsistency completely exasperating. She can normally hold it all together in the SP, but it tends to fall apart in the FS. Hence, I will reserve Judgement on where she is this season until I have seen her LP. If she skates as well in the FS as she has done today in the SP, then I will be absolutely delighted. She is a very elegant skater.

She deserves to be in the lead, but 69+ is over the top. However, watching the videos so far, all of the scores are inflated to an extent

Hope your enjoying your day in the arena watching the skating

Thanks for the report. I agree and thought Kiira was divine.
I think it's the best program I have ever seen from her and she skated it extremely well.

For me it was easily the best SP.
I liked the program a lot as well - although I hope she changes her costume to a light blue - I think she would look better.

You have a really good point here. Johnny has said previously that the one thing he struggled with the most during his career is "learning to compete" - he's not a natural competitor (i.e. Plushenko and Lysacek) -- which has been one of his downfalls over the years -- and he has to rely on his ability and training. Based on what I read on IN, he said he was the most nervous he's ever been - he. Just goes to show, that nerves never go away with time. I was happy to see him go for the quad and he got through the program without making HUGE mistakes. You can tell he's done the training and he has the jumps, but he's just to put it all together now. There is quite a bit of room for improvement, but he's right on track.

I agree with all you said. For his first competition back, I think Johnny did really well. I'm proud of him. He said he was serious about this comeback, and it showed in the performance. Yeah he didn't win, but he didn't have any major mistakes, he performed quite well, and he went for the quad. I'm feeling positive. I agree with you, I think he's on track so far. Fingers crossed for the long program today.

I agree with you Anna, Kiira said she has trained hard and good to see she is "injury free", she loves her programs so much this year! - as always Kiira looks gorgeous out there on the ice and commands the audience and judges - IMO Kiira, Carolina and Alissa are so classy - artistic and very ladylike. We need them!!

Inflation is relative - but I agree Kiira deserved first and by a comfortable margin.

I really enjoyed her SP - and who says a "green dress can't win" :)

Only Kira could make that hideous color look good.

Yes, her score was way too high IMO but, you can't deny that there is a huge difference between a little girl and a real woman skating. I would have put Kira first for sure but the spread between her and Mirai is too large. At this point Mirai must feel like even if she skates the program of her career there is no way for her to catch up even if Kira does a so so program.

On the other hand competition is competition, bring it or stay home.
