I see a lot of potential here. This pair just won NRW Trophy (J) with a score of 142.

They probably won't make it to the Junior Worlds but they most likely will make it to the Youth Olympics.

Wow, they are amazing for such a young age. She is 15 and he is only 16. Another very talented junior pair from Russia together with Atahanova/Spiridonov. Thanks for this thread and video.

I forget to mention that Alina and Nikita has recently beat not one but two pairs who had made it to the JGPF. At the NRW Trophy they beat Duskova/Bidar and two weeks ago they beat Poluianova/Korotkov at the 4th Russian Cup event. At the 4th Russian Cup they were pretty close to beat a 3rd pair who had made it to the JGPF because they lost to Gubanova/Sintsov only about 3 points.

I think that if fully fit Atakhanova/Spiridonov and Borisova/Sopot will make it to the Junior Worlds. Ustimkina/Volodin are fully capable of beating Gubanova/Sintsov at the Russian Junior Championships but there are quite a few other pairs who can do that also, Like Poluianova/Korotkov, Mishina/Mirzoev and Ivanova/Khakimov. Mishina/Mirzoev already beat both Gubanova/Sintsov and Ustimkina/Volodin at the 4th Russian Cup event. So, the ladies event is not the only one which is going to be very interesting competition at the Russian Junior Championships.

Very nice FS. Too bad their SP was so bad. Anyway, they have made it to the Youth Olympics now because they were the 2nd best eligible pair.

I didn't see their SP today at the Youth Olympics but they scored very well - 56.38.

they have even beaten Duskova / Bidar before
my only concern are their future prospects together, shes getting too tall "Davakova" vibes with her
he, otoh is a very strong lifter and can be partnered with another if they dont work out on the future.

Volodin should be an asset to the not so many male pair skaters that are strong lifter and can do triple jumps

Bronze at the Youth olympics is a good result for Alina and Nikita. Also the score of 152 points is good. Although with clean programs they can score above 160 points. Anyway, gold and silver wasn't really within their reach.

They did well at the team event. They scored above 100 points and they lost less than 3 points to Duskova/Bidar and less than 4 points to Borisova/Sopot. Too bad that they were the only competitive skaters at their team.

Alina and Nikita will compete at the III Russian Winter Games this week and at the Nationals Elder Age next week. They are the favourites at the latter competition but Borisova/Sopot are the favourites at the Winter Games.
