Best wishes to Adam....I really enjoyed is programs last year and he appeared so happy or content. I'm glad he continues to try to improve his jumps - and assume this is why he made the move. Does see like a lot of coach hopping, but again....wishing him the best.

Good thing on the jumps side, I hope he'll get a consisten quad and a better triple axel (he needs them), but Dungjen-Sato did an amazing job with him, his spins and the quality of his skating, now, are better than ever! His artistry+Arturyan jumps could be a great combination for him!

All the best to Adam. It must be tough making so many changes and difficult decisions. Busy time of year to be packing up and moving cross country as well.
Hoping he will find inspiration and happiness in his new training center.

Didn't he work with Michelle at one point?

Anyway, he should be an interesting choice for Adam. Who else is at Ice Castle these days?

Hate to say that Philip Hersh ‏@olyphil has sent a series of judgmental tweets about Rippon's decision:

Is Adam Rippon going after Niciole Bobek's record for coaching changes? By my count it's now 4 changes, 5 coaches since 2009.
1:07 PM - 11 Sep 12

Bad math, still a lot of coaching changes for Rippon: 4 coaches, 3 changes since 09: Morozov-Orser-Dungjen/Ina-Arutunian.
1:10 PM - 11 Sep 12

And Rippon spent only 1 1/2 years with Morozov, leaving mid-season 08/09, so that would be 5 coaches, 4 changes since 07.
1:14 PM - 11 Sep 12

Nio matter what the numbers, might it not be time for @adaripp to consider the possibility that the coach isn't the problem?
1:16 PM - 11 Sep 12

Add another to Rippon coach count….after leaving Orser, he worked with Ghislain Briand in Tor….now this is nearing Bobek territory

Hersh makes a good point though. Not sure at this point in Adam's career that anything can be done to help him with his 3 axel.

Well now he is sleeker and more aerodynamic and sophisticated looking. Maybe he was hoping the quads would be easier. Or maybe, just maybe this was some evil plot by Charlie White to dominate the cuteness of curls look. Perhaps, just perhaps, Adam was sleeping and Charlie snuck in wth scissors and chop chop chop.

Wishing Adam all the best with his new coaching situation. I do miss his curls, but that's totally up to him.

Hope this change works out for him. I was kind of expecting this actually, he always seems to be changing coaches whenever he has a bad season.
He will have to settle down sometime, though.

And ... in his new FD, Rippon will be playing a character similar to Don Draper from Mad Men. Not saying that it must be Rippon's one and only reason for losing the curly look, but his "more sophisticated" appearance will suit his FD.

Yeah, I don't know about this move. Adam needs to improve his jumps and speed; maybe Arutunian can help. But it sort of seems like grasping at straws a bit. I have to agree with Hersh a little in his assessment of Adam and Jeremy last spring at Worlds--both of them claimed to be "proud" of themselves for "fighting through" after placing, what, 11th and 13th?? As Hersh rightly pointed out, there's not a whole lot to be proud of in going from 5th and 6th in the their last Worlds to 11th and 13th. Hersh was kind of suggesting they need to take responsibility for their skating, demand more of themselves, and really look at what they personally need to do to succeed. You could interpret this move to Arutunian as Adam seeing a hole in his skating and moving aggressively to fix it, or you could see it as him looking yet again to a new coach to "save" him.

This one, a bit of a surprise for me I guess...Hasn't Adam worked with Yuka+Jason only one season???

I was becoming to appreciate Adam's skating last season. Even though he did not improve his overall speed and skating skills as I expected from him, I really liked what Yuka+Jason have been trying to help him with his skating. Adam definitely showed some improvement last season.

It may be just me but after learning this news, what I would have hoped for was probably while Adam continues to work with Yuka+Jason he finds a good jump specialist; someone like Arutunian, or Ms. Krall as Blue suggests...Just like Jeff had Arutunian as his jump coach while Berkell stayed as his main coach.

Anyway, it's his decision. His time and devotion to spend. If Adam thinks this is the best way for him, then best of luck to him!

Didn't Krall want her students completely under her care if they need her help? Well, Yuka and Jason are very nice couple! But they might not be enough for Rippon. I wasn't keen on Adam moving to Yuka and Jason in the first place. So I welcome this time's coach change. Hope Adam has finally found the right solution.
