I'm ineterested about Iliushenkina-Kocon... Can they compete with Popova-Massot for the second French spot? Obviously, Dance and Men will be the best categories to watch: Joubert vs Amodio and P/B's Rolling Stones!

What happened to Anais Ventard? I remember her from last season as a new "distinctive" skater from France.

I read something about Ventard not going to the Masters because of her JGP assignments, but there seems to be no scheduling conflict so I've no idea what's going on.

Joubert will be at the Masters with Annick Dumont, who's been his primary coach since he moved to Paris last month. He told his local newspaper that he's not ready (when is he ever, at the beginning of the season?) and his coaching situation remains unsettled at the moment.

It's kind of sad to see such short entry lists for seniors. At least the pairs situation is looking up, especially if Lubov Iliushechkina can secure a release - I hope that her being entered with Kocon is a good sign.

My understanding is that they've split and she's looking for a new partner.

Any details about Joubert and Amodio programs?

And does anyone know about Lubov, how she looked?

Busy weekend of skating this is!

What I've been able to gather, mainly from Passion Patinage:

Joubert: turn out or otherwise iffy landing on the 4T but still got a 3T on the end, hand down on the 3A. Did 3F, which was okay.
Amodio: Fell on his 4S. Combo and 3A both in the second half of the program to get the bonus, wouldn't have expected any different from Morozov.
Lubov and Yannick did only a double twist, not surprising as it is still early days for their partnership. Reportedly they will skate internationally next season if all goes well.

Here are the reports on the men's SP and pairs SP.

P/B got all levels 3 and 4.

Buttercup, thanks for the links!
I can do better! Here are the video links for Amodio and Joubert. I'm not a huge fan of either program, but for Florent it's a step up from last season, and I'm glad to see that Brian has made some changes to his SP (most notably on the spins). He needs to play with the jump layout and take advantage of the new bonus (Florent certainly does).

There was only a broadcast for part of day 2; unless someone taped Friday's performances from the stands, I think we won't get much more.

I'd love to see J/C's LP, though, that is a fantastic score for them, and it's not like French national events are that overscored compared to some countries. I really hope they can continue on this positive track, and that we'll finally see some good results from the French pairs and ladies. It's been way too long.
