oh no. breaks my heart once again...I hope Mao forgets about all these 'insanely' heavy expectitions from J media and its people, for once, and will skate her FS at Sochi just for herself and for the ones she loves. Best of luck to Mao tonight.

Simply no words. She said (apparently through translation) that she had lost her fight and that it had become a mental battle. So sad for her, but she is and will always be a beloved treasure and wondrous skater.

    She did it!
I'm still a bit mad about the scoring, but in the end it doesn't matter that much. What she achieved here tonight and what she managed to prove to the world and to herself is beyond medals and placements.

So beautiful! I'm so happy for her that she put down a skate like that. So emotional. I had tears for her at the end of that performance.

I became a Mao Asada fan overnight. Honestly, what she did last night was worth more than a OGM. She had the OGM in mind for the last four years, and came into these games fighting for the elusive Gold, but went away as a legend.

What a glorious skate by a legend!!!
Congratulations Mao, you don't have to stand on the podium to be a champion.

Mao is the true Olympic Champion of my heart. And she ended up 6th, like Daisuke.

, MaiKatze! Mao truly shined and rocked the WHOLE world with her glorious free skate!

To those who feel 'fed up' with those on-going nasty discussions at various GS Forum threads :
Here is 'granité' for you, from Mao+Dai, hoping their angelic smiles make you feel better and remind you why you fell in love with the sport called figure skating! http://www.sanspo.com/sochi2014/phot...280063-p5.html http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/zoomImage...OHT9I00004.htm
