(To the tune of "Wooly Bully")
Jenny's out jumpin'
To Die Fleidermaus
She's got her Lutz a movin'
Like a big brick house!

Triple/triple! Triple/Triple.
Triple/triple, triple/triple, triple/triple.

(To the tune of "Louie, Louie")
Triple/triple, oh, Jenny, that's the way to go
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Triple/triple, go Jenny land it goin' strong.

You changed your coach to Callaghan
And now you might skate with a man
Before you go to be a pair
Win a medal at Nats, fair and square

Triple/triple, oh, Jenny, that's the one to land,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Triple/triple, yeah Jenny, triple/triple, yeah Jenny, nice and clean, yeah, baby...yeah!

Skate like lovely you, Jenny!

To the tune of Jenny Jenny Jenny, by Little Richard:

"Jenny, Jenny, Jenny, spinnin' like a spinnin' top (Jenny Jen -- HOOO, Jenny Jen)
Jenny, Jenny, Jenny, spinnin' like you ain't gonna stop (Jenny Jen, HOOO Jenny Jen)
The greatest little momma, you oughta see her reel and rock."

Oh wait. That is Jenny Jenny Jenny by Little Richard.

PS. Hey Rgril, do you know the real words to Louie Louie, or is all that just an urban legend?

I think I found it, LOL. My favorite quote:

"The (Justice) Department advised that they were unable to interpret any of the wording in the record and, therefore, could not make a decision concerning the matter (of obscene words)...The FBI Laboratory advised that because the lyrics of the recording, "Louie Louie" could not be definitely determined in the laboratory examination, it was not possible to determine whether the recording is obscene."

I wish we could say the same for some of the cds that are out there now.

Mathman & Piel,
Given that I have the CD "The Best of 'Louie, Louie': The Greatest Renditions of Rock's #1 All-Time Song" which includes versions by the Rice University Owl Marching Band, Rockin' Robin Roberts, The Sonics, The Sandpipers (and you can hear every word on their version--very slow and m-e-l-l-o-w), Les Dantz & his Orchestra, and also "The HalleLouie Chorus" by The Impossibles. I daresay I can call myself an amateur expert on "Louie, Louie."

As you can see from Piel's link, "Louie, Louie" started out as a laid back Jamaican song--yes, there's a Jamaican version on my "Best of Louie, Louie" CD and every word about the investigation of the lyrics by the FBI under Jedgar is true. The FBI did its last great smut work under Jedgar, closely followed by the Meese Report on Pornography. But since then, our government hasn't done anything at all artistic in the smut-investigtation biz. Of course, what are you going to do when some of the CD titles alone describe more than Debbie ever did in Dallas.

Back OT:
Jenny Jenny, you gotta skate.
Jenny Jenny, you gotta skate.
A fine little girl, you skate for me.
Me catch your Lutz across the rink.
You sail your spiral all alone.
Me always love to watch it go.
Jenny Jenny, you gotta skate.

The story behind the Kingsmen's version of "Louie Louie" is an interesting one. Lately, the term Garage Rock has been used as a similie to describe anything that sounds rather crude and unsophisticated. But when talking about the Kingsmen's "Louie Louie," it becomes a literal term. The song actually was recorded in a garage, using only one microphone, hanging from the ceiling. The various members of the group all positioned their amplifiers in a circle around the microphone, with the vocalist standing a little closer to it. Unfortunately, the amps were tuned up too loud, and the singer wasn't standing quite close enough, and that's why his voice is burried in the mix and it's difficult to understand him. All the idiots in the justice department really had to do, was listen to any other version of the song (i.e. The Beach Boys, Paul Revere & The Raiders etc.) that came out around that time, and they would've been able to understand the lyrics perfectly.

How on earth a thread about Jenny Kirk suddenly turned into a discussion about "Louie Louie" is anyone's guess.

Any thread that turns into a discussion of "Louie Louie" is by default a great thread, I don't care who the skater is. Which reminds me, for all the skating to "Sing Sing Sing," why can't somebody skate to "Louie Louie"? There are enough versions of it.

Thanks for the story, Idle.

All the top three ladies are mighty impressive but I got excited over Jenny. I think she could have easily been ranked first. The presentation was fantastic reminiscent of Witt's sp 88. And she looks fabulous. I love Michelle's artistry last night though. She's so into the character ( or music ), the arm and body movements were great and consistent throughout.

Jenny, you WON the bronze and where are you going? To WORLDS!!!

So not your best night, but you won the hearts of the audience with your SP. A bronze in this field is great and there's no telling what you might do at Worlds. Congratulations Jenny!

Ya know, maybe she ought to drop that waltz and take your suggestion and skate to Louie Louie. That short program would indicate (at least to me) that she probably would do better with something a little more contemporary (and upbeat) in the long program as well.
