Noo! So sad to hear this. So much trouble for this girl, too many injuries. I just hope it's not too serious and she will back on track for the US Nationals. It's time for her to compete as a senior and if she does well I hope to see her next season competing in senior GP.

What is going on at this event? Look at the initial results for deductions, which I presume are falls. Hardly anybody seems to have stayed on their feet. Is something wrong with the ice at this arena? Too many ladies trying for skills they can't reliably do?

ETA: Oba on the podium with the 2 Russians, Keiser off. Anna P runs away with it by default.

The good news is that Leah managed to pull off the last berth for the Junior Grand Prix Final at 24 points (1st + 4th), along with Anna Pogorilaya with 26 (1st and 3rd). According to my calculations this is the JGPF crew

Elena Radinova -30
Angela Wang 26 (wins second tiebreaker)
Anna Pogorilaya 26 (second in second tiebreaker)
Sakato Miyahara 26 (third in second tiebreaker)
Hannah Miller 26 (loses in first tiebreaker)
Leah Keiser 24
---
HaeJin Kim 22 (wins first tiebreaker with 1st place against Courtney and Miyabi)
Courtney Hicks 22 (wins second tiebreaker against Miyabi)
Miyabi Oba 22

Who's in the JGPF for Ladies:

1

Elena RADIONOVA 30 points (two firsts)
Angela WANG 26, a first and a third
Satoko Miyahara, a first and & third
Pogorilaya 26, a first and a third
Miller 26, two seconds
Leah Keiser 24 points, a first & a fourth

I think Leah just made it? (The order of girls with the same number of points, the highest placing is the first tiebreaker. Since no one else has 24, I guess she's in.

Then there are a lot of girls with 22 for the alternates.

The page isn't updated yet, but here's where it is:

Doris, I calculated it all out, just above yours!

Basically the 22 girls (HaeJin Kim, Courtney Hicks and Miyabi Oba) are alternates. Leah Keiser nabs the last spot with 24 points.

I'm so happy for Pogorilaya, she delivered a very well program and earned good score. So I think she may be on the podium of final, and even on the Russian team for Junior Worlds this year. Watching Leah's program, she was very good presentation-wise but had some problem with jumps this time. She has the ability to deliver a clean program as I've watched in Istanbul last month, so today wasn't her day. I think even 5th place would be enough for her to qualify. Hope she will be at her best in JGP final and in the Nationals. I didn't expect Stavitskaya to be in the first place yesterday that I was a little bit surprised. After watching her SP I really liked her skating. So that means this girl has something but usually isn't clean as we've seen today in FS.

Anyway, I think the final is going to be amazing with 6 talented girls competing. I wonder can anyone catch Radionova. Others will compete for silver and bronze.

I so looked forward to Daleman's performance...and was dissapointed. It wasn't so much the four falls, but I thought most of her jumps looked under rotated..I didn't see any flow out from her jumps, but did see a lot of ice on her landings. I think sometimes there's so much pressure on these young ladies to up the ante that their elements lose the clean landings etc...I'm wondering if this is an oversight on the coaches part. i would rather watch a beautiful triple salchow, or toe loop, done beautifully than a lot of UR jumps. I think Daleman is a lovely skater with a lot of promise and I'm hoping to see her do well..this goes for all the young ladies out there.
