Oh, I don't blame her for being too excited! - And thank her for uploading it! Will she "fix" it though? I mean, we wouldn't want people to think it took "this" long for him to land his first 3A.

Another witness, not Sara, who wrote the tweets

Raffaella: Really I think I have seen one in Pinzolo as well, during a training. He was trying all single jumps and all the doubles when I've seen him, than made an Axel that I've judged as triple. My impression was that it was not planned, that he couldn't stop himself to try. When he landed he was very happy and closed his fist moving his arm from up to down. So this made me more sure of what I saw, but again I couldn't have replay, so I don't want to say this for sure. It seemed to me.

The day when he first landed 3A in pinzolo, he was excited and shouted 'unbelievable', since he successfully landed quite some 2A already, only 3A would make him so happy. He did two 3A that day. But after that, he could not really repeat it. He tried and successfully landed other triples, but not really 3A (not I am aware of at least from REPO). Nevertheless, he planed to practice this jump at Tartu, so Pinzolo's ones were just nice surprise;D

Thanks, plushyfan! Glad to see you back, too - at least, I don't think I've seen you around for a few days? Missed seeing your posts.

What is the deadline for Russia to make their determination over which man will represent Russia at the Olympics? I realize that Russian nationals are usually held in December (around the Christmas holiday time). I also realize that with the team event, there is the theoretical opportunity of having a second man in place on the Olympic team, to determine who will skate which event (team short, team long, men's singles). Anybody know? This would seem to factor in our ability to gauge how well Plushy is progressing. I wish him well. Would looooove to see him compete.

I think that Europeans is often used as a skate-off to determine spots - but I believe that the winner of Nationals automatically qualifies, and since they only have one spot for the men, maybe that will be "it" then? Also, my understanding is that they will only be allowed one man, period. Which would mean that Plushy - should he make it - would have to skate both team & individual. Plushy is entered for Rostelecom, so we will be able to see something then of his progress, if not sooner. Well, hopefully.

I'm not really an expert on the subject, though, so if I'm wrong in any of the above, I hope someone more knowledgeable will jump in and correct me!

There is no second man option. They can only have one.

They will "choose" after Europeans, or whatever convenient excuse they can come up with to get the skater who has been politicked for on the team if it's not Plushy. I'm sure Tarasova will be at it quite heavily.

If Plushy will skate well, Tarasova can't do anything.

I realize that Russia only qualified one man/entry for the Men's event. I wasn't sure that the rules as established for the team event at the Olympics permitted a country the right to name a different skater, to represent them, competing in the Team event specifically.

You sound quite confident in hour reply, so I would conclude then, that Plushy - if he is named "the one" - would be expected to perform in both the Team and Men's events; two shorts and two frees in ~2 weeks. The demands of essentially back to back Grand Prixs. Is that correct?
