Too risky IMO. I mean... 4-4 at the end of the SP sounds just as crazy as a quad toe at the end of the LP.

Oh, it's too risky - I didn't say it would happen. Just that IF you were to put it anywhere - that would be it.

In the interview/message to Yuzuru after Sochi, Plushy said Yuzuru should jump more quad combinations (and, if I'm remembering this correctly, that he'd teach Yuzuru 4-4 if he were his coach).

Sadly, I feel like the window for those combinations has passed. They're not well-rewarded enough to be worth it under the current system. If anyone were going to do it, it would've been circa. 2002 under 6.0. Now it's all about quad salchow and quad lutz.

But, I agree with LRK: If anyone were going to do it, it would be in the SP. That's the only place where it's valuable (squeezing in an extra quad, kinda like how being able to do a 3-3 for ladies is actually more valuable in the SP than the LP). Still not valuable enough to be worth the risk though...

I think Yuzuru has physical possiblity to pull 4-4, because despite he is so tiny, he has somehow so much strength that he is able to pull of quad from no too much speed, adding perfect running edge out of 4T it may be possible for him on the edge. But I don't think he is practicing it. I don't think Orser would let him ;) Maybe when he will end competitive career he will be trying such things because he will be still young

I think he is more focused on landing diffrent quads than trying abstract combinations :)

I agree that Yuzuru has can pull off 4-4. The question is whether he could pull it off and still skate the rest of the program (if he does it at the beginning), or if he still has the stamina to do it after all the other tricks (if he does it at the end).

That's why I said the end of the SP - if, as Plushy says, you have to rest after it. You can't rest in the middle of the program, obviously - the only way you can do that if it's the last thing the skater does. And he's likely less tired at the SP than then LP - also he will "only" have done two other jumps before that. In addition to that - he'd get a bonus on the quad-quad combo. I suppose the place to try this - if it were tried at all, which personally I seriously doubt - would be at a competition that was of less weight. But anyway, it's not like skaters don't mess up far easier combos and miss out points in the SP anyway, so.... I don't know. Regardless, I'm not exactly holding my breath. :)

Yeah, 4-4 sounds interesting but but too crazy in a serious competition when you also have many other elements to worry about. And with the top guys even the SP are energy consuming.
I have no doubt that several top guys can pull a 4-4 in practice (maybe not perfect). But to do 4-4 in competition, if it's Plushy then I can believe. But even Plushy didn't go for it.

It would require some kind of hybrid 6.0-COP rules for it to be worth the risk--bonus for combo (like 6.0), small punishment for fall/stepout/hand down (like COP).

(Btw, were you even allowed to do 4-4 in the SP circa. 2002? I don't think you were allowed two SP quads back then... So Plushy would need to do it during the LP, and somehow skate the rest of the program...)

No, two quads have only been allowed in the SP relatively recently. Kevin was the first skater to land two in the SP.

I find golf to be one of the most boring sports to watch, but hopefully someone will edit down Plushy's parts so we don't have to sit through all of it.

Mah this morning I have just seen a conversation about Plushy. Apparently there's a Korean Idol called Jessica and she is attending the golf tournament as well. I don't know why but her fans are pairing her up with Plushy which is absurd because Plushy is a married man who even brings his wife and son there. I don't know if this singer is going to participate with Plushy in any project or not, but I think it's not because she has no relation to the skating world.

Maybe he will play the violin as an accompaniment when Plushy plays golf? His own soundtrack... ;)

Lol, if you think about it, Plushy is a very odd figure skater. Take a whirl around the other fan fests, and it's pictures of teenagers hanging out with their friends, ect. Here, we've got a married man with children going to a golf tournament. No wonder Mishin called Plushy "very, very old." :p (Now, if he were a football player, he wouldn't appear so strange).
