@yanarudkovskaya: Our dear @EvgeniPlushenko left to train 😂 We will miss him ❤️ http://instagram.com/p/r9bhN-FSOZ/

So Plushy went to St. Petersbourg to train. Good news. And no doubt he is very thin. From 2007 until 2009 he was fat, before Vancouver he needed to lost 10 kg. But in these days he is more thinner than ever but he has many good muscles. Yana vegetarian so probably they eat many fishes and vegetables.
In last year: Look at the picture on the street https://twitter.com/MriaSzalai/status/501448863426052097/photo/1 :)

My holiday is over. I'm going to work next week. I do not have time to watch the Plushy's videos, plus the new season begins in figure skating. In this weekend I'm doing a Plushy marathon on Youtube. I started it with the Nijinsky, of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEJXkfMYTX4 I found many great comments but this is my favorite:

"I LOVE the way he moves his body. The line, the position, the harmony between upper and lower body, the delicate body control, the natural grace of legs... When he moves his legs in such a beautiful ways, he looks like he's floating on the ice and just free of all the laws of physics!! I'd never ever seen that before. and THIS is the beauty. Just absolute, pure, ideal beauty. I appreciate to Evgeni cause he left so many beautiful artistic performances for this planet."

And this reminds me of some opinion: Plushy is not artistry..I was really surprised when i read it in 2010, I never read it before. What ???? Are they blind ??? Or they did not watch his performances since 1998 only repeat this stupid thing what read in American media. They do not know his results, his second marks in 6.0 system etc. And after I read Mishin's comment. That was the part of "the information war" against Plushenko ...

I think his body is looking good. I was not crazy about him when he had the extra weight...not that it was really that bad, but I just prefer him slim. Also his hair and style improved after he got together with Yana. Though I notice he tends to wear the same clothes a lot...which is fine, nobody really needs a million pieces of clothing. And I remember how small his closet space was in the Japanese documentary. :)

I see plenty of comments on here and other places about Plushy's so-called lack of artistry. Some people just have a very narrow view of artistry and can't accept that there are different ways of expressing one's self. I can understand if someone says the choreography is lacking in some of his later programs, but when they try to pigeonhole him as "just a jumper," I know they are talking out of their... ;) He has so many creative and varied programs, and he sells each and every one of them.

And it's finally happened...Plushy gets nominated for the ice bucket challenge. http://instagram.com/p/r-Az-QuUBE/

And he's posted it! http://instagram.com/p/r_rkk7myxv/

He does seem to hold onto his clothes especially those blue shoes and pink shorts, but hey he looks good in them so why not? :p

As for his artistry, I'm certainly no expert but I have to say I always watch his performances on the edge of my seat whereas with other skaters I get distracted...so that's got to count for something!

Please take pity on a poor person for whom Instagram is not working (she whined self-piteously) - who nominated him, and how did he do?

Instagram's not working for you? That's terrible! Well anyway, he was nominated by some guy from Muz_TV and he did good! Complete with what appeared to be some sort of karate yell at the end.

Also amusing was the guy who poured the water, who was all dressed in white and looked rather srs bsns.

Thanks for telling me - and in such an amusing way! You made me laugh. :)

I went to the PlushenkoNews twitter and saw that it seems that Plushy nominated Del Piero? I know they are friends - have footballers been doing the challenge up till now?

ETA - It seems that Del Piero had already previously been nominated for it and taken it:

All kinds of athletes, celebrities, regular folks, etc. There are different website viewers for Instagram - maybe those would work for you, LRK? Try this:

Plushy's one of the few who doesn't shriek like a baby, but seems to enjoy it. :) But I'm pretty sure I've seen him get doused by cold water before...maybe in his tv show when he went to a sauna.

And yes to the blue shoes. They look awfully comfortable, though.

Well, that gave me a sign-in option, at least. I don't have Instagram, and perhaps that's it - maybe one needs to have signed in to view them? But, what really puzzled me is that I generally just got a... completely blank page, so, if I wanted to get an account (I don't), I couldn't. Oh, well, as I've said previously, my computer is on its last legs, and we're dragging out the invetible as long as possible - so I don't want to mess with it (or rather have my husband mess with it, as I'm basically computer illiterate!) just to look at the occasional Instagram... Though I must confess that sometimes it can be quite... vexing!

But thanks for trying to help. :) You people will just have to put up with my continuing to moan about it, I suppose... ;)

Here you go: the ice bucket challenge in GIF form.

Does he have a man-servant? Looks like this was done at the resort in Sochi, but I thought he was already back training in St. Petersburg. Maybe it's another hologram?

I also think he is in ST. Petersbourg. Yana wrote two days ago Plush flied to St. Petersbourg. http://instagram.com/p/r7YoZgEzCw/

Do I understand that the programs were made before there were these problems?

Yes, the program delivered at the end of the season. Short - "Bolero" by Ravel. I love this music. I think we got the point. Offered it to Alexei Mishin. But approved and Zhenya Plushenko. Once arrived at the training, said: "I think that Lisa will approach" Bolero ". It is modern. "Alexei had brought the music. Invited a wonderful choreographer Yuri Smekalov. The work has begun. I love the program. I just get used to it.

Oh, Smekalov choreographed that for Liza? I'll have to watch it again. I generally dislike like the Bolero music (and Kovtun is using it for his SP as well, heaven help me), but I will just keep the volume low.

I have the same feeling. I mean I love Ravel but Bolero, to me, is just a good example of a crazily extra-grated monotone.

I have no problem with the overused music if I see interesting programs. I adored Carolina's Bolero. And who can forget Plushy's Bolero in 2001? Energy, power, beauty, passion, speed!!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQo4mLyGsNE ABC video. Plushy is extremly cute in the beginning of the video. :) Listen to the ABC commentary. The North-americans heard such commentaries for years. This is the reason why the Americans think Yag is more artistry. But we didnt heard such commentaries in Europe or probably in Asia....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=murcJtNT5qc&t=4m3s look at the Japanese girls at GPF

^I think Peter Carruthers' comments were fair. He prefers Yagudin when they're both clean, which is fine. I don't think--though correct me if I'm wrong--he ever said Plushenko has no artistry or that he prefers Yagudin even when Yagudin is a mess. In that sense, I think he's more fair (and less politically driven) than some other American commentators. He does talk way too much, but that goes for a lot of people.

Here's a partial Eurosport video of Bolero, from 2001 Europeans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzdyaKXE89k Extremely (to unbiased ears, maybe over-the-top) complimentary. :)

I'm not such a fan of Plushy's Bolero, due to the costume and choreography. But if someone watches Nijinsky and says he has no artistry, I say they have no heart.

Is it bad that every time I'm reminded of this, I just burst into laughter? It's just so... absurd. I hope the actual product doesn't turn out to be boring, because I'm expecting a lot!

I know Peter Carruthers likes Plushy. Except in 2010. Maybe I'm too sensitive to this matter ;)

Maybe he made some pretty  comments in 2010. It's kinda hard to know since Olympic videos are all deleted. I remember the Canadian commentators gave the impression that he got a mandatory deduction for that one-second pause or something.

Yagudin's SP was better than Plushy's that year, imo. Plushy only got the good SPs (Adagio, Moonlight Sonata, Aranjuez) after Yagudin retired. I'd argue with Carruthers after the LPs though.

I don't remember what said Carruther in 2010 but I know he had bad words on Plushy. This is what I remember. I love Plushy's Bolero and his costume too. And probably my favorite Sp is the Tango and Flamenco in 2004.

and one of my favorite exhibitions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHjjPZ8vbto Town wich doesn't exist. Thanks to Katia Kutyavina with englis subtitles.

I'd forgotten Tango and Flamenco! Another great (post-Yagudin ) SP. I think Tango and Flamenco + Nijinsky at Nationals 2004 might be the best two combined performances in his career (other favourites: Adagio + St. Petersburg 300 at GPF 02-03, Moonlight Sonata + Godfather at GPF 04-05). Bolero's not really to my taste... something about the hands and the step sequence.

Nice to see that exhibition with English subtitles!
