That's intriguing! Especially considering Sandhu was one of the few people who won against Plushy in the 2003-2006 period when he was on top of the figure skating world! (Although Sandhu did win on a technicality, Plushy did too many jump combos - which is sort of hilarious as well as irritating, like "We'd like to give you the gold, but er...you did too much...")

Anyway! I'm so jealous of these people who get to watch all these skaters at work.

Also, I hadn't seen this photo posted yet, which I like to call "Plushy's just showing off now." I can't get my leg up anywhere near that height and I've certainly never had back surgery.

I rewatched the Tango Amore program at the Artistry on Ice 2010. I like how the audience screamed for his every moves... "Plushenko I love you" he can play with the audience. When shaked his hips he stood front of his banners, where the girl were most extatic. But later he went to the Yagudin fans and he danced to them, too... The atmosphere was really hot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5lAZtvnkak I can't wait what will they do with Boyang.

We work... Put the new programs! Choreography of Posokhov and Filin we transfer to ice https://www.instagram.com/p/BHCAeQggPbh/ Maybe with Sandu? Or one of his program choreographed by Sandu exclusively??? Oh, Pinzolo, Pinzolo!!!

The basic structure of the program he did with those ballet choreographers in a studio but someone has to adapt it into a skating program. That's Sandhu's work, assuming he's the foreign choreographer who was referred to in the rsports article earlier.

Correction: he made TWO programs in Courchevel. The one that was started in the studio with the ballet choreographers is not the same one that Sandhu did.

"Choreography of one program belongs to Posokhov and Filin, choreographer of 2nd program is Emanuel Sandhu. We are talking about new programs, instead of "Carmina Burana", on which I worked in the past season.

---

After training camp in the French Courchevel I want to continue systemic preparations under the guidance of my coach Alexei Mishin, but I do not build plans regarding competitive activities.

After these camp in Courchevel, we will see how we will move later (in sporting terms). Then I will have the shows in Astana, where everything should to go well, because I'm ready for show. Then I have a show in China, and then, perhaps, once again camp with Mishin. Either around St.Petersburg, or in city. But I do not want to go ahead for now.

Now I do not claim that I will back in a sport or not, I'm now recovering from a three-month pause. I bring my form in order, put the programs and after that I will see what to do. Camp in Courchevel, in the mountains at an altitude of 1850 meters above sea level, going very well, very positive, although the training is very difficult, because we went at once to the height - not enough oxygen - but preparation is productive.

The current camp is the "preparatory, without any plans". Tomorrow is my last day, I will try triple axel. Injuries do not interfere, since the last operation was three months ago, nothing disturbs me. But the big statements and comments on my the return to the sport or something else, for now I will not give."

There's still the possibility that Sasha wants to skate. Also because his father is doing it. It's always the kid's decision in the end. But I guess it's too early to speculate on that anyway.
It's great to see them together having fun!

But why? If Sasha truly wants it then I think it would be cruel to say, no, you are not allowed, because of me. If Sasha wants to skate, let him skate. If it turns out he's a chip off the old block, well...so be it.

I know that it's not uncommon for people to follow into their parents' footsteps career-wise, partly because kids generally don't have an opportunity to get to know any other occupations, besides teacher and doctor, but it's one thing with most professions, where there's no imperative to become one of the best in the world, and another with sports, music and acting, if one's parent is a legend in it. I agree with Scott Hamilton in this respect; when asked if he'd like his son to become a figure skater (when his son was little), Hamilton said that figure skating is a small world, and everybody would have been comparing his son to him, and so he'd rather his son chose to do something else, and he and his wife would get to know this new field and become part of it as the boy's parents. Given how many different occupations there are out there, I think this makes sense. But that's just my opinion, of course.

I agree with you, it would be a hard path for Sasha. And I can understand parents who don't want a professional career for their children in any kind of sport. I don't think that I want it for any of my own children. And the expectations for Sasha as Plushenko's son would be very high. Too high maybe. But I don't think that, as a parent, you should restrain a kid if the kid really wants something. A parent has to be supportive. And it's very likely that Sasha is going to love figure skating, because his parents are loving it. And Anthony Ponomarenko f.e. seems to be doing fine. Anyway, only time will tell.
