Look, any fan of figure skating should want him to succeed. More elite academies means more competition, and means more great skaters emerge to push everyone to be better.

Look what the Russian nationals looked like. Wouldn’t it be even more awesome if instead of 3, we had 6, 7 or even 10 skaters battling it out?

I don't know, I mean yes you're right about more schools meaning more skaters, but I'm pretty sure if Plushy's Academy collapsed tomorrow or he decided to become a hermit not many tears would be shed.

Basically the entire Russian Ladies Thread would like the facilities of the Academy, but if Plushy would just get the Hell out of it, that would perfect :(

Some unknown choreographer from the Sambo-70 just threatened Plushy with a duel, oh my... Is some good coach/skater running away from this school or is this man an idiot? Such threat would be handled very seriously by the police in any other country in the world. How horrible these Russians... 😰 I am really worried about Plushy's safety in Russia now. 😟

Yes, it's very bizarre.

It seems the guy - Zheleznyakov was drunk after celebrating Old New Year (until 1918 Russian new year used to be 14 days later than ours because they used a different calendar) and was just shooting his mouth off. But yeah, it is an actual physical threat to someone...

This chap stirred some controversy back in July when Sasha T and Sergei R left, he posted on Insta a rant against them and Plushy with was pretty nasty, especially to Sasha T :(

Anyway, apparently the head of Sambo is going to have words with Zheleznyakov.

The general consensus seems to be it's all ridiculous and not serious, but it's still a bit scary. Like what if Zheleznyakov actually is crazy and tries to take Plushy down in a parking lot or something 😳 They are both based in Moscow after all.

I know Russian men are very tough, but this threat is not at all some cheap joke which can be laughed off so easily or covered up with any far-fetched excuses. A tragedy may very well happen in the twinkling of an eye.

From the very beginning the Sambo-70 has been attacking Plushy and his Academy by using the media and stirring up its own supporters. They are just so afraid of the real competitions between these two clubs. Simply unimaginable!

I don't think Plushy should have responded to this mess. It is under his dignity. This guy should be ignored because he's crazy

It seems that Plushy is the only influential & ideal spokesman not only for his own academy, but also for other clubs as far as the Russian judging system is concerned. He is going to talk with the Minister of Sports and the Presidential representatives in charge of sports about that. I fully support his serious fight for justice for all other skaters!

Honestly it is really tiring to read all the things about these judging issues on a daily basis. I have already lost a lot of interest in this sport.

Aww cheer up Sweet Dream! I do believe that Plushy really does believe the judging system has issues and they need to be fixed and it's not just him trying to push his skaters (although that's obviously part of it). I remember his first complaint was about Liza's SP score in comparison to Kamila V and Daria U. He does know Liza obviously, but he's prepared to go in for other skaters too.

In other news, Zheleznyakov (the choreographer guy) has backed down and apologised to Plushy. According to him, he heard some untrue info about Plushy which set him off. Hopefully, he'll behave himself in the future.

Enough about that though, I'm still working on linking up Plushy's programs in the Media section and I have found a Holy Grail...

This is Plushy's FS in Vancouver...but! It is the British Eurosport Commentary version! And what a difference a commentary team can make! Instead of Scott and Sandra spending 4.5 minutes dragging the defending Olympic champion who's only had like 6 months preparation, you have the British Eurosport Uncles mostly being quiet and letting us watch the program.

And one of them - Chris, I think? - certainly believed Plushy had it. The crowd enjoyed it too! Once again, you have to wonder what NBC was watching...all that talk about jump, jump, jump then nothing? It's amazing how your mind misremembers after hearing something enough times...Plushy did jumps after one of his step sequences! And his spins were actually pretty good! And it goes without saying he sold the Heck out of it. Phoned it in, my butt.

I'm not saying he deserved gold (although I think he sorta did), but this memory so many have, of an arrogant man who just came in, did the bare minimum and then demanded a gold? Nope, not true at all.

I think that's why I get defensive about Plushy, I feel like new fans will get the wrong idea and not appreciate all he did and how good he was. Which makes me sad...I smiled the whole way through that Tango Amore FS, it was so enjoyable to watch!

Do watch it and share your thoughts :)

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I might be back later with present day links, but for now I'm going to watch the Moscow Cup.

Until next time, fellow Plushy fans, stay positive!

Wow! Wow! I'm so happy that this Zheleznyakov apologized to Plushy ... I almost saw Plushy knocked out by him ...

*Stomps into thread and throws self down*

I'm sorry fellow Plushy fans, after all my good advice last post I completely disregarded it and got into an argument with about six different posters and achieved precisely nothing.

I'm constantly forgetting that for some it doesn't matter what Plushy does it's always wrong. Even if he did the exact same things as everyone else it would still be wrong. Did you know there's people out there mocking the cottages he had built for Sasha, Aliona and Julia? Only Plushy could build top notch facilities for skaters and be derided for it.

I miss Plushyfan 😭 I hope she's going well.

Anyway...here's some links which I hope will cheer us up:

Kirill Sarnovsky, Maxim Avtushenko and Sofia Muravieva competed at the Moscow Cup:

It seems that this has not been posted. Azerbaijan skater Vladimir Litvintsev newly joined Angel's academy and is trained in the group of Rozanov. I've been suspecting the move because I saw Vladimir @ Angel of Plushenko in his Instagram story a couple of weeks ago. And now it's confirmed. He is a skater on my radar and I really like his style. Welcome abroad Vova, and wish you all the best!

Azerbaijani figure skater Litvintsev moved to Plushenko Academy

He should have won the🥇!
Ha ha yeah.

Although I haven't watched Evan L's skate in like... ever so I probably should before I say anything.

*Goes to watch...comes back*

Well I watched it without commentary and...I have no opinion. It's like when I watch Yagudin skate - like intellectually I realise it's good, but my emotions are like "Nope."

I'd be such a bad figure skating judge...

I think it might have been Evan's music choice, like...there was no build up there. Nothing to really catch my eye (not even the blingin' snakes )

The audience was into though.

I mean I guess if I'm honest it's not a travesty Evan won or anything, but it really was a super close thing and I sincerely feel that had Plushy had won it would have been totally fair, too.

Having said that, if Plushy had won he never would have gone on to Sochi. I never would have seen him and become so intrigued by this skater who went to so many Olympics and skated for so many years and somehow remained on top (I'd been aware of him at Torino and Vancouver, but the internet wasn't what it was in 2014 and it was too hard to watch figure skating). I would never have watched BB!Plushy being an utter legend and become the ridiculous fangirl you see here today. 🤗

My criteria for why I enjoy a skater is simple, do I smile when I see them, do I find them engaging, do they make me wish I could skate and do they make me cheer? If not they could be the most fantastic skater ever and I will remain unmoved.

I wonder what it says about me that on hearing that Plushy's FS music was entitled "The Best of Plushenko" I didn't immediately think "What an ass!" but "What a complete an utter legend." :laugh2:

Anyway, I should take my daily walk now so I shall be off. I'll bring links later though if the mood strikes.

Until next time!

My fellow Plushy fans! I have ascended to the level of crazy fangirlness!

I have linked 365 videos of Plushy's competitions from 1995 to 2015!! That's a video a day for a year (although not a leap year, shame :p ;) )

It has been quite the journey! From the teeny tiny boss (only as tall as a junior pairs lady according to a commentator) in Australia for the 1996 Junior Worlds (which happened in 1995, but whatever) to his last ever scored competition at the Medal Winners Open in Japan in 2015, where, in typical Plushy style he won

I shan't lie, my hope is some new fans to figure skating will come across these links and watch some and perhaps come to appreciate Plushy's unique abilities as a competitor.

I have many feels, which are best summed up by this fan vid

The answer to that question is yes.

Now it's Sunday, the Academy's day off so alas I have no new Coachshenko links.

But here's Yana walking through the snowy wonderland that is the backyard of Casa Plush

Why is she carrying a toy owl? No idea, truly a Russian mystery.

Good night and until next time, stay happy!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

Today the Moscow Novice Championships, where Sofia Titova and Nikita Sarnovsky will compete for the chance to get into the Junior Nationals. Fingers and toes crossed for them! There's supposed to be a stream but it's not on at the moment even though this was meant to start 20 minutes ago. Hope it comes on soon (ETA: it's taken me so long to do this post it's up now!)

Coachshenko content:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKLhnWVKOBP - Warming-up before getting on the ice. Looks like a fun time!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CKLuvFxqIlh - One of the Angels who's been training there since the beginning Nastya Sokolova had her 8th birthday yesterday. A lovely montage :)

Sasha P Sheningans:

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CKJpIEYITIe - Lego Goals

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKMdmg6AIOl - Dancing like it's 1719 :laugh2:

Yana stuff

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKMcu-Kls-6 - Just hanging out in a gorgeous dress, as you do. ;)

Right I better be off to watch the competition, Nikita Sarnovsky is coming up. Also I have to clean my house a bit as the air conditioner man has to come by because my unit is making a weird noise.

Until next time, stay healthy!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

The older novice boys have just finished their elements section, Nikita Sarnovsky was in 4th going into it, but is now 6th. Hopefully he can have a great FS and make Junior Nats.

There's are few other Angels at the event, including Sofia Sarnovskaya in the younger novice group - alas she didn't make the cut after SP. Her costume did attract much comment though!

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKPK5E3J8QH - Very cute! I think she was skating to Cats so I'm not sure how it relates, but whatever.

There was also Anastasia Chinnova, who I've ever heard of, but she's currently 4th so will be progressing.

And in the Younger Novice Boys we have Yaroslav Khrulev who I don't remember, but his name pops up in my auto-correct so I must have mentioned him before  He's skating first in the last group, but I'll be in bed by then. Good luck to him though!

I should put this in the Angels thread...

On topic!

Coachshenko content!

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKOlVlZKOep - Sasha P remains hard at work on his jumps. Coachshenko supplies a little speed

Other stuff:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKO8tOZjv03 - Plushy and Anton Sikharulidze :) (Dang, Anton got ooold!)

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKO2GRFF0X1 - Well this is gosh darn adorable Yana, little Arseniy and guard dog, Pancho! 🥰

Well, I'm off, Sofia Titova also skated today, 🤞for her!

Until next time, stay healthy!
