^I know, I know. I'm just being so greedy. I hope they don't cut the others off either (but that's likely, since it's only one hour :frown:). Since I'm already (re-)watching Plushy and Mushy, I think I'll like a nice long video covering the entire show, with which I can sit down for an evening. I'm interested in seeing what Javi, Tomas, and Honda did (I have already seen videos of Johnny's Bollywood skate from another show).

Hi Sandpiper.

Yes that's me! :D I was going to bring them up in my first post, but you're apparently not allowed to post links for your first comment as I discovered. Plus, it seemed a bit presumptuous

But anyone else who's intrigued can see them on my tumblr - http://anonymoose-au.tumblr.com/post/85200145812/project-plushy-complete I keep them on my bedside table.

And you're probably right about what Japanese people think of US or in my case Australian TV.

And I'm off to watch videos now too. Great to see Plushy back on the ice!

(I vaguely recall Yags in 2002 because he came on an Australian program - The Ice Dream after he won, can't remember for the life of me what he said though!)

Yes, I think he donates them to an annual children's charity drive. I'm pretty sure I saw pictures or video of it at some point (and I'd bet money that the amazing Plushyfan probably has some links for you  )

Thanks for the confirmation gallavich! I'll just take your word for it :)
I hope the Japanese skaters are doing something similar with all the toys they receive. I thought they probably do, then I saw a picture of Yuzuru's room full of Pooh bears :slink:

Yana and Plushy eating what looks to me like shabu-shabu.

The Hello! Magazine article is online now. Some really nice photos in it. :)

An interesting quote from Yana: "Sasha - very positive boy and gives us strength to Zhenya, - says Jana Rudkovskaja. - To be honest, before the Olympics, it was hard, and after it was hard so that I wanted to howl beluga. I kept thinking, "What are you doing? How can you think that Plushenko scared? That such a man, he is not afraid of anything!"

(sigh, Google translating..."howl beluga"? Like caviar? Maybe it's a Russian figure of speech...)

^I agree with Yana. Accusations of chickening out are just . What kind of stupid logic is that? "I just skated well in the Team Event, beat Patrick Chan... And though I feel alright, I skip off home without even giving the individuals a try?" It's not like he has anything to lose.

"howl beluga"... Er... howl like a beluga, maybe?

---
Take from the Yuzu thread, here's Plushy saying Yuzu should go for five Olympics and win gold in every one: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1zl3rz_20140616-every-toi_sport

He's probably joking. Still, for such an "arrogant" man, he sure seems to be in a hurry to see someone surpass him. ;) (Now me, personally, I don't think anyone's going to surpass him, but we can let the Russian Overlord dream).

Didn't Plushy joke that he will go to the next Olympic? Figure skating world would explode if that happened.

D'oh...a beluga whale makes a bit more sense in that quote. Forgive me, I have brain fog this morning. :p

I sure hope people don't take everything Plushy says literally. But things always seem to get lost in translation somewhere along the line.

Well, he was speaking in English, so it's not lost in translation. But maybe people missed he was joking (or was he? ;)). I mean, this is the person who said he'll replace all his body parts. We probably shouldn't take everything he says at face value.

Didn't Plushy joke that he will go to the next Olympic?
Yes he did. But he doesn't just want Yuzu to go to five Olympics. He wants Yuzu to win gold in every one.

He needed to keep his Donald Duck cap on.
I wonder if he gets that kind of treatment in Russia. If not, it must be very amusing for Yana.

^Ha, I'm not sure he even needed to take off his sunglasses to be recognized. I mean, how many blond-haired, big-nosed, obviously Caucasian men wander around Japan?

Plushy wins IceNetwork's 'It's Your Move'! with his quad combinations! http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2014/06/16/80059990/

In celebration, here are some of his best combinations:

4T-3T: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVttluHZRGg&t=0m50s
4T-3T-2Lo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aGZXEs4dIE&t=0m28s
4T-3T-3Lo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVplv_v4B4M&t=0m56s
Bonus--4T-2Lo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nU375RQrTc&t=0m52s (What lost him the GPF  And it very much is a quad, Uncle Dick. ;))

Btw, I might as well as ask this now: I heard he's done quad toe-triple loop before? Anyone have a video, or was this a rumour (or some figment of my imagination)? I absolutely love loop combos (even when they lose him titles, haha), so I'd love to see this.

Yuna did well. Wonderful job in leading for most of the voting and holding on to silver in the end. (What, you thought I was going to attack them back? ;) To be honest though, I wonder how the Yuna fansites are reacting to this. Are they going crazy over this little poll? Er, speaking about the ubers. Most Yuna fans are probably lovely people, and I like Yuna very much myself.)

Yuna may be technically excellent, but I don't see her as a true innovator, per se. Plushy's quad combinations and male Biellmanns were very innovative. So I think he absolutely deserved to win.

The text on one of the Disneyland photos: Today I was for the first time in my life in Disneyland in Tokyo, I now have the weekend between the shows and I'm ecstatic! "Between the shows" - does that mean he'll be in Beppu too? I don't want to get my hopes up too high, but...

..."Between shows"? Hmm. Wasn't he supposed to go to a training camp or something?

Well, the poll is about "iconic" moves, not necessarily "innovative" moves. Of course, the latter feeds into the former. Yuna's 3Lz-3T is sheer, beautiful quality. But her camel spin is quite unique--I think that counts under innovation. Are there other skaters who did that position before her?

Just saw this in the forum sidebar: https://twitter.com/EvgeniPlushenko/status/478930570232479744 Plushy tweeted about 'It's Your Move': "Thank to my fans! Very nice to win on Icenetwork's "It's Your Move!""

Between quad combinations with a 3-3, obviously people would chose the quad. Simple as that.
