No 3-3, but a nice clean skate. Nice to see the top ladies skate well.

3F+Rippon2T. Fantastic layback spin. Should get a Lvl 4 on the second spin. Good ride-out and split on exit of 2A. Good 3Lo, should get bonus for being in the second half of the program. May only get a Lvl 2 on the footwork.

66.44 (SB) and into a close 2nd
A very close top 3. The FS is going to be a nail-biter
I think wagner was overscored in pcs.
I didn't like her program. And wagner's skating skill looks not that good.
My favorite performances - akiko, mao![]()

Actually, it's a very close top 4. Kiira Korpi isn't too far behind, either - well done to her, she's been sick with the flu and I was pleasantly surprised by how well she skated.
I still find Mao's program juniorish, and I'm over the Rippon arms in the jumps. I want Akiko to win.
I agree Mao's music is better suited for Junior skater not a mature skater like she is. Also i want to see the top Ladies do 3-3 combo's and Mao and Wagner seem to not have any intentions of doing them.
I agree, judges are overscoring her because she's american and it's been like forever there wasn't one who could stay on her feet and be consistent for more than one competition.
TR, CH and IN are also too high, specially compare to Suzuki's program. Wagner's just fell flat. Wrong music for her.
JP media spent over 40 minutes on Mao fluff. So it still hasn't shown anybody, and I frankly no longer care, esp. now that I know exactly how everyone skated. (I'm furious b/c I thought they'd show everything live since they said they start broadcasting at 8pm Japan time). I want Akiko, Ashley and Kiira to finish top 3 (don't care which order) tomorrow after free.
well yuna did a 3lutz3toe in fs from last year's world championship. she didn't win. so, why bother doing it when you're winning.

I know and it's sad. That's why Kim was so good she had the artistry and the hard jumps to go along with it. No watering down her programs like Kostner did last year or Mao is doing now.
Funny, I was just thinking that Ashley's program was very polished, and the choreography is wonderful. I think, perhaps she is a tiny bit heavy on her feet where the jumps come in (they are a bit low and labored), but obviously, this is a young woman who runs that program over and over and over again until each step is perfect. There is nothing sloppy about her skating. (IMO of course)
I'm just glad Mao delivered, given that she said before she had some trouble with her waist/back. No UR's or popped jumps! If she could just pull it together in the FS too
And a hugefor Akko!! Except that one spin, everything was there. Now please nail the FS like you can and did at NHK!
Kiira was amazing given her health problem before, I'm no fan of hers, but this was so nice to watch.
Ashley continues to deliver, and I give her she's an impressive fighter, but I'm not really agreeing with her PCS here... I'm with lea, I think she's a little overscored here. But her levels should be higher than at TEB, so the TES is fine. (Just the lv4 steps is a suprise to me. The technical panel looks rather generous overall though).
Sad for Liza and Christina, hopefully they'll come back strong in the FS. Especially Liza, since she's at home!![]()
Good job for Ashley!!!
Another clean top notch performance. Three for three this season and that's what you call consistency. I want to reward her more...
lol i feel you. a 2 hour tv show for a 40 min competition? japanese commercialism at its best (or worst). i don't mind the choppy (free) feed, at least you get the excitement of watching a live event.
some bs sports channel broadcast it live though. not this event unfortunately. mao is in this event. it's an expensive broadcast.
