Russian Anna Ovcharova finished 2nd in the ladies event.![]()
So it is her? I was wondering if she is the same person but of course it would have been too much of a coincidence not to be. I haven't heard of her lately so it seems she had this in plan for some time. I think it is a wise decision, I used to like her as a junior but I am surprised she couldn't surclass Tina S.
Not only second to Tina S, second by quite some way (these are just the top finishers)
1 Tina STÜRZINGER
Zürich-Oerlikon ESC142.82 1 1 2 Anna OVCHAROVA
Genève CP134.80 2 5 3 Nicole GRAF
Frauenfeld EC129.80 5 4 4 Myriam LEUENBERGER
Zürich-Oerlikon ESC129.01 7 2 5 Yasmine Kimiko YAMADA
Zürich EC127.61 3 10 6 Romy BÜHLER
Winterthurer SC127.02 4 9
Following her recovery from a foot injury Anna moved to Switzerland end of December 2011 and is now training full-time in Geneva with Peter Gruther. She is considering to skate for Switzerland. Gruther praised her as a “great skater” and Anna said that her injury has healed and she feels very comfortable training in Geneva.
Was Peter Gruther Stephane Lambiel's coach? If so, that is great. She has very good flexibility and nice spin positions and spirals and he could improve that but what she needs the most to improve are her jumps. I found a video from last year russian nationals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3ehTK4Vbt4
