Suzuki could be the 2012 Miki Ando or Shizuka Arakawa - good skater who steals the gold. This is probably her best opportunity. Mao not fully transitioned yet with her improved jumps; the Americans not quite stable yet, the Russians second string competing with the baby ballerinas ineligible, Kostner with limited arsenal.

I think it id going to be her Worlds
I would love to see her put it together both in the SP and the LP.Did she not score about 65 points for her SP when she nailed the 3T/3T earlier in the season?

I really hope she skates lights out! I didn't realize 2010 was her only worlds performance! It was so sad when she messed up the short program and had to skate in the dreaded 'early' group She's delivered some awesome performances in the past and it'd be amazing if she can do it at this year's Worlds! It'd be awesome if she could grab a medal (or win, wow!)!! I still love the A-team: Ashley, Akiko and Alissa :-) I'll be rooting for all three of them.

She may be 28 but remember MARIA BUTYRSKAYA - it could happen again!

I think Akiko is younger than that.

    .....Right, checked her bio.
She was born Mar 28, 1985, so is still 26 yo. Will turn 27 next week, though.

Anyway, I hope she will do really well in Nice.
I love her programs, both SP and LP this year.
If she can hit 3-3 in the short, she does have a realistic chance to get on the podium.

Good luck to you in Nice, Akiko!

I think it's between her and Kostner for the world title.

What I would fear is when she feels pressure and taking it too seriously, Akiko tends to lose a focus and pop a jump or two.
I hope she just goes out and performs for herself and the audience.
Then the result will be with her as she wants.

How wonderful it would be to see her on the worlds podium or win it all at this stage of her career.

She's admirable for her having won the battle with herself and the way she has steadily earned the respect of the audience and the judges, even while she's never been the #1 favorite of her federation.

I wish her the best at the worlds.

I don't really care where she places, I just like to watch her skate. But I hope she lays down her best, I'd love to see it.
