:thumbsup:Congratulations to Akiko for the silver medal at the Four Continents:yay:
Her short was superb, the long (minus the popped axel) was as inspiring and expressive as ever! If she can get the errors fixed, I really feel that she has a realistic chance for the podium at the Worlds.

Akiko is lucky to have such dedicated fans. I love that those fans always give her the same teddy bear with a different pattern each time! It's so cute! I'm looking out for that teddy bear, always wondering how the next one will look like.

I love the teddy bears :)

Akiko. The last two years she has been among the top three skaters lovely to watch and so athletic. I dedicate this thread to ask if our Japanese freinds here and people around the world feel this lady is especially underrated at home. At 27, she is amazing. A complete, beautiful tiny bird this year. I love Mao forever but Akiko should garner more respect from JSF. I hope she gets to Sochi, and has the best skate of her life, regardless of scores, or placement.

I'd love to see her win an Olympic medal. It seems just if she skates as well as she can. It is amazing what Japan has done with singles in this last decade. Yes, the body size shape is a big advantage rotating triples and quads but they all seem to work so hard.

If you had one skater you'd like to see "make it" in Sochi, who would it be? Do you have an unsung underdog?

For me she is not only the best skater in Japan, I think she is the best skater in the world!

Congratulations Akiko for winning the 4CC Silver medal with a new personal best 190!!!!! Whohoooo!

I love you Akiko! I hope she does well in Worlds :) The pressure is on the top 3 super girls- Yu-Na, Mao Asada and Carolina Kostner.

I think Ashley has a possible underlying injury.

Her SP and LP showed command I've never seen from her in the past! Super!

Akiko's comment after her Free skate at 2013 Worlds in London, Canada:
"The ice was too soft tonight, so that it was hard for me to gain the speed enough for jumps. Could not fly over the ice the way as I wished/wanted...my performance throughout was as if desparately struggling in the water, instead of flying over the sky."

Message to Akiko:
"Otsukare-sama! & come back home safely, Akiko. :) You don't forget a lot of your fans are awaiting your return here in Japan, do you? ;) Please rest well first and take good care of your body. I hope you and Daisuke will soon have a little chat with Shizuka Arakawa, who had a similar disappointing pre-Olympic season by placing 9th at 2005 Worlds, then miraculously came back strong to super-surprise everyone by winning OGM at Torino the next season. :yes:
On behalf of your fans in the world, 'A Million of 'Thank-You' for showing us another 2 FABULOUS programs this season once again!"

My favorite performances by Akiko 2012-13 season:

SP at Osaka 4CC :cool:: :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkkma4-__D4
Free at NHK Sendai :love: :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOuaUMgFOcg

Thank you deedee that message is so sweet. Akiko had 2 beautiful programs this season and it was unfortunate for her and her fans
that she could not show her brilliance at Worlds.

You could see the ice was very soft during the dance-this would be part of the reason for people catching edges in spins, too.

Thanks for this, deedee.

I hope that Akiko's fans in Japan shower her with some love and support at what must be a difficult time in her career. I wish I could write Japanese so that I could send her a message...

Bounce back strong next season, Akiko!!! :)

I hope Akiko will skate at WTT, although I fear it will be Murakami instead.

But if Akiko skates, I hope she manages a season's best :)

A message in English is just fine! I am sure Akiko is gonna love having messages from her overseas fans. :yes:

This is Akiko's official site, and you will find 'fan letter' on the bottom right: http://www.akiko-suzuki.net/
And the below is the form for you to send a message, though all written in Japanese unfortunately.
http://www.akiko-suzuki.net/letter_form/

There are 4 clauses to fill in. Please fill them in as follows:

-お名前(ニックネーム) ->your name/nick name
-地域 ->your location *pls choose the very last one, which says その他(海外,)meaning 'overseas/international'.
-メールアドレス ->your mail address
-メッセージ ->your message
When you finish writing, please click 送信内容確認, meaning 'require you to check your message' in red. if the message is ok, then click it again.

I hope this works for you. :) Seriously, Akiko should consider making her official site into BILINGUAL by now! since she has such a HUUUGE fan base all over the world, right? ;)

It's been announced this afternoon that Akiko will compete at WTT in April, along with Mao, Dai, Takahito and the Reeds. I sincerely hope she will have two good skates which she can feel satisfied with, so that she at least can end the season with her smiles! :yay:

Thank you for the tutorial, deedee, although I have to say the prospect of maneuvering through this process is giving me the cold sweats :unsure:.

It warms the heart to hear that Akiko will be on the WTT team. I am really hoping that she shows her year's best performances, and why fans around the world find her skating ravishing, in this season finale. :)
