(Sigh!) Looks like Gilles is going to finish outside of the top 10. Only 5 points separating Kate Charbonneau and Jessica-Amy Sergeant.

Glad to see Veronik Mallet retain her lead after the short program, she has good skating skills and nice jumps just needs to add some more expression and she could be a fabulous skater.

Any information about Veronik Mallet? I know she won the silver last year, but basically I know nothing else about her...

Wow. Although she didn't skate clean, Kaetlyn did well today. I wonder how she'll be doing at 4CC and at Worlds..

Protocols say that both Osmond and Daleman landed six triples - Osmond fell on her final jump (2A). Well, she hasn't had a perfect free program yet. Chartrand actually landed seven fully rotated triples. Future looks good for Canadian ladies.

PJ Kwong has just tweeted that Alaine Chartrand has been moved into 3rd place and her score has been increased, which means Lacoste is now 4th. I'm not sure about the details yet..

Amended final results in post 8 to take account of the change

What impressed me about Chartrand (from the protocols, haven't seen the skates yet) is that she tried 2 different 3-3 combo/sequence pretty much successfully; 3Lz with a 3S in the long and 3Lz-3T in the short.

Can anyone provide details on what happened to move Amelie to 4th? I see the protocol change, but not any details on why.

From Jackie Wong, The Examiner

There was some intrigue in the ladies' event after the unofficial scores came out. Originally, Lacoste had the bronze over Chartrand, but Chartrand's 3lutz1/2loop3sal was credited as a sequence and not a combo. After the error was fixed, Chartrand won the bronze over Lacoste.
