When I started reading this thread I thought there would be pages of praise for Adelina, but as CaroLiza_fan says, a lot of negative posts about her or predicting her bombing tomorrow
Yes. So many strong, interesting performances yet people talk about Osmond... THIS ISN'T CANADIAN NATIONALS, THANKS.

There were transitions before everything other than 3toe/3toe and 2axel (well there was a transition before the axel but then a break). And as far as most other PCS criteria go, Kostner was clearly the best. She should have easily won the SP, IMO, even with that fall.

Hopefully Leonova does a Maria Butyrskaya or Irina Slutskaya and prove Russia wrong - though next year she has Lipnskaya to compete with too.
What would be the point of that? Sotnikova and Tuktamysheva will easily earn 3 spots for next year.

It's high time Leonova got the 'roll up your sleeves or bye bye' message.

Well, not that I am an Osmond super fan, but she has amazing transitions. The required triple jump in the short program has to come out of steps. Kostner does the bare minimum and should be scored accordingly.

I think Russian fed is done with her. They don't want any judges giving her the highest pcs with Liza and Adeline is around because they are the future. They are for Sochi. Leonova helped them by having a bad season but gosviani wasn't even eligible for euros when they names her over leonova. She had to get eligibility. This is a clear case of federation dumping. They have dumped leonova. Now if she continues and doesn't retire there is a chance she could get back to shape and do what she did worlds 2012 at a Russian nationals but her best is now easily beaten by 3 eligible skaters by then. No she was dumped. She was for a reason and the reason was to benefit other Russians pcs and it helped sotnikova.

She doesn't do the bare minimum. She does quite a lot of three-turns directly in the triple loop.

transition after exiting the jump, including a short spiral.

transition in and out of the 2A.

Are you kidding? She had more transitions than all of the girls at this event. Her TR should be at least two points higher than Adelina.

    Here's Adelina's 3T-3T

    same entrance, no exit transition.

    Here's Adelina's solo 3F

Caro did her solo 3lo immediately after 3 turn. Had interesting exits. Adelina's exit transition isn't as smooth.

    Here's Adelina's 2A
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...gINUarYw#t=85s
a little spiral, follow by a long set up for the 2A. exit has no transition.

Why do people keep on saying Caro has no transitions?
Look at her long program from Italian nationals. She does nothing for 5 seconds into the lutz. Her flip sometimes has a very long set-up as well.

Okay I see the biases (lol) for certain skaters and disdain for others. Sad though Leonova never got to say goodbye.

    OMG, the arguments here

    - Carolina Kostner has no transitions
    video prove she does
    - but she has insufficient transitions
    video prove that's not true
    - but she has no transitions in her long program

Of course, just answering a question about why people say she has no transitions

It has been way brazen to score osmond 70+. It is ignorant to say she can get the score in the worlds. Has she ever scored 65+ in any international events? kostner, even sotnikova are far more refined skaters than osmond.
I can not stand the stupid canadians.

    Here's Osmond 3T3T
she had more transitions going into the jump but less in the exit of jump.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FeNF...tailpage#t=40s

    Here's her solo jump
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FeNF...tailpage#t=40s
again, exit transition was very simple.

    here's the 2A
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FeNF...tailpage#t=40s
spread eagle into the jump, no exit transition.

I don't see how anyone can claim Osmond had a lot of transitions and Kostner is transition-less. From the video, Kostner's transitions are more difficult, and go very well with the program. Osmond's is cookie cutter transitions that are in every single programs and doesn't make one different from another.

Let's get real. If Kostner had little to no transitions, then everyone else should get 4s or 5s for transition.

Kostner isn't rewarded enough for her CH, IN, PE, and especially SS. She never get higher than 9 for SS. Never get 9s for CH, IN. I think she was robbed after the SP here.

Look's like Carolina is going to win this one. Adelina's lead is slim and she's more likely to make costly mistakes in the free program. I hope Liza gets at least bronze.

I meant it sounds likes we will never see Leonova again with Lipinskaia joining Adeline and Liza. Poor Alean and Makarova. Just sort of disappeared in one year.
