My Predictions:

Pairs
1. Volosozhar/Trankov (A lot of momentum going into Worlds)
2. Savchenko/Szolkowy
3. Moore-Towers/Moscovitch (Their FS is phenomenal, they'll need to skate a good SP though)
4. Duhamel/Radford (Will probably outscore MT/M in the short)
5. Qing/Tong
6. Bazarova/Larionov (I'm apprehensive because of their injury)
7. Berton/Hotarek (Have skated well this season)
8. Kavaguti/Smirnov (I'm hoping that they return to form for Sochi)
9. Wenjing/Han (They needed to skate this season, I feel like they aren't prepared)
10. Castelli/Shnapir (They can score better if they go clean)
11. James/Cipres
12. Scimeca/Knierim
13. Peng/Zhang

I agree with your 1-3 pics. I think MT/M have really put the pressure on Duhammel/Radford and they really connect with the audience better. Their freeskate has been getting them good 2nd marks that Duhammel/Radford can't compete with. As long as MT/M can skate clean I think this one is theirs. They looked great at practice.

weird I just dreamed of Kovtun in his SP
he did a nice 4T-3T, 1A and hand down 3Lutz

Could very well happen but I just have a feeling Miner isn't going to do great here, and maybe that's just what he needs to go find a new coach who can teach him better jump technique.
I think Miner is lucky to be at Worlds at all honestly, he laid a bit of an egg at 4CC...Dornbush was much better than him there, and then Farris followed up his great Nats showing (where he beat Miner on TES) with a convincing win at JW. If he was skating for Russia, I'm pretty sure Dornbush or Farris would be at Worlds. IMO those two have star potential whereas Ross I feel may have already overachieved his true potential in terms of skating results - he's a good competitor but the jumps aren't textbook, his movement is still stiff, and the hockey player background is still rather apparent. Of course, there were times I felt the same way about Lysacek in terms of hard work compensating for lack of natural grace or ability and he wound up winning freaking Olympic Gold - so I could be way off, this is just how I see things currently.

Anyways, I want the US men to get 3 spots and have faith that Aaron will do well for himself I just think it's a big ask with the depth of this field.

i agreee I don't think his injury was nearly as bad as Weaver's.

I was basing my placement over the fact that Weaver seemed to have more time to recover than Bourzat. B/P withdrew from Europeans which was far more recent than the Canadian Nationals. I'd like to think that all the competitors are in top form, but that isn't always the case. I haven't had any news on them, so does anyone have any training footage?

B and L were really shakey on there sbs jumps in practice; I am not sure what is happening. Crazy K and S decide to show up last second it seems. Too bad canada coldn't use the tech of DR and pcs of MT/M lol I think Sui and Han and Castelli and Shnapir might surprise. Patrick really needs to be perfect to have a chance.

hopefully that won't happen
I woke up before I saw the score as I thought it was already Worlds Championships, lol, I my dream think Kovtun's was a 60+ score, I didn't get a 70 score in SP

B/L seems to be struggling with sbs jumps again
hope they don't bomb as usual by Worlds. I agree MT/M have better LP than D/H and they connect better also and have more chemistry, i think if they will be clean they will get bronze

Chan is a champion!

How arrogant from SC and ISU to put a technical controller from the host WC country of one of the main contenders. Shameful to disgust. :disapp:

not to mention Pairs: a Canadian Assistanct Tech and a judge
Canada is a lock for bronze or even silver in Pairs
so we are looking at 3 medals for Canada now with 2 golds almost a Lock
even a bronze for Osmond is not far sighted

I will revise my predictions:

Ladies:
1 Mao
2 Yuna
3 Osmond

1 Chan - lock
2 Hanyu
3 Takahashi

1 V/M - lock
2 D/W
3 P/B

1 S/S
2 V/T
3 MT/M or D/H

I think Ladies still has a chance though Pairs Canada has a lock of a podium, a gold for Chan and V/M is almost certain

Never fear, lets talk. There is plenty of representation from Russia and former SSRs on the judging panels, but no USA judge in Men and Ladies and no CAN judge in any event except Pairs.

Looking at the Men's draw, the 1-12 rated men were in the 5th and 6th flights, the 13-18 rated were in the 4th flight, and all the other groups (19-35) were randomly drawn in the first three flights.

For the women, then Gracie Gold will be in the 4th flight with YuNa Kim, and Kaetlyn Osmond could be anywhere from first to skate in the first flight to last to skate in the 3rd flight.

I hope Gracie can hold it together with the reigning Olympic champion in her group...I think skating so close to Mao Asada at 4CC spooked her.

Did the ladies draw yet? Or is this your educated guess?

The question wasn't posed for me, but I was wondering the same thing, so I checked the ISU's official page. It doesn't look like starting orders for the ladies are up yet.

There are 35 entries in both Men and Ladies, so I would expect the draw to be done the same way. Ladies don't skate until Thursday--the draw for the Ladies SP will be tomorrow at 10:00 am EDT, and will be posted sometime after that.

What's interesting is that the Pairs skate first tomorrow, but start order hasn't drawn yet. The time schedule for the Pairs Short draw is 6:30 pm EDT today, Tuesday.

Other draws:
Short Dance - Wednesday at 2:00 pm EDT.
Pairs Free - Wednesday at 3:00 pm EDT
Men Free - Wednesday at 10:00 pm EDT

Well, I'll give it a shot. Sorry if I let my Canadian show. Home country worlds is making me extra patriotic.

MEN

1. Chan
2. Takahashi
3. Fernandez (he's looked SO good all season...I hope he snags it)

LADIES

1. Asada (LOVE her Swan Lake)
2. Suzuki
3. Kim (Sorry. I adore her, but her new programs aren't as brilliant as I expected)

PAIRS

1. Voloshozar/Trankov (I don't like them as much as the Germans, but I think they're more consistent at this point)
2. Savchenko/Szolkowy
3. Duhamel/Radford (They certainly have the technical content, and they have looked so good all season)

ICE DANCE

1. Virtue/Moir (Superior programs IMO, but they have to skate Carmen absolutely perfectly)
2. Davis/White
3. Borborva/Soloviev ( I don't think they're as good as Pechelat/Bourzat or Weaver/Poje, but I think injuries are going to hold both teams back)

I disagree. Patrick is not a lock for gold, even though it's Canada. He is a lock for the podium, though.

i LIKE OR UNDERSTAND your reasoning but in dance I am not sure why but the judges don`t like Carmen by V and M that much. i don`t think Chan will win gold though Hanyu or Takahasi or Fendez and chan might not podium
