I thought Mao's 3A was slightly UR. It would be interesting to see if Mao can succeed with her 3A at Worlds-after all, Worlds is not going to be held in Japan.

Me too. The technical caller wasn't calling URs. That helps the Japanese girls a lot, because they all have big problems with URs.

I think there's a little bit of PCS inflation for the Japanese girls here. Mao's PCS will likely be somewhat lower at Worlds, too, since it's in Canada not Japan.

Their pcs (Yuna's and Mao's) should be very close in the SP, if they both hit at worlds. But that's just my opinion of course.

But... I'm so happy that Suzuki skated clean:) I hope Gracie, Suzuki, and Kaetlyn all skate clean tomorrow.

Looking at the protocols, the technical caller isn't calling underrotated jumps. I thought several jumps that received full credit were underrotated - Asada's 3A, Murakami's 3F, etc.

The second replay of Asada's 3A was under rotated and is Murakami's 3F. Japan's inflation most definitely.

Admire Mao for trying and keep on improving... 74 was bit high.

Chantelle KERRY, Australia, 43.93 into second place.

It is great that at 4CC, we get to skaters from countries that we don't normally see.

Yes-now if those of us without live feeds could only 'see' them. Sigh.

Great job by the Japanese and American ladies tonight-especially Japan!!

WOW MAO!!! Can't wait to see THAT skate!

Yeah, the Japanese girls are in for a rude awakening at Worlds when they find out they aren't skating in Japan anymore and technical callers will actually downgrade their underroated jumps.

Yes, what a bad competition when all 3 Japanese ladies landed on their butt and got huge score. It's not like all 3 skated lights out :sarcasm:
And it's not like this is an international competition with international judges and technical specialists
Akiko scored 65 at GPF with en error on a spin. Here she went clean, still 65. Kanako scored 64 for a clean SP at Worlds last season. Mao landed everything, 3A included, gorgeous spins and steps. This is a fact. If she'll do it again at worlds her score won't be too different that what she got here. Remember how people said it as unfair she got 67 for a SP at NHK without a 3-3 and the score won't happen again? Well, it did. She scored over 66 at GPF with the same contect

Mao and Kanako's scores are inflated, considering their jumps that should have been downgraded. The technical specialist must be on the JSF's payroll.

The technical specialist is terrible. He/she must be on the JSF's payroll. Mao and Kanako's scores are inflated, considering their jumps that should have been downgraded.

Oh, please. Don't start such crazy accusations. :rolleye:

There were a few URs called, but only on the VERY low level skaters. This tech team was generous overall. Not even that many edge calls.

Go back to Siberia.
Kanako's 3F was actually overrotated. She finished the rotation, then overrotated on the ice.

Tech panel at 4CC tend to be lenient and GOE happy especially to ladies. Remember many edge calls and URs were overlooked last year, including Asada's. It is being held in Japan this year, where Asada could win NHK popping jumps all over. You never know what will happen at Worlds in Canada, which has Osmond.
