Great to see the mingling of smiling faces from different countries and different disciplines.![]()
Han YAN is a wonderful jumper and great up and coming skaters to seniors but wish he would look more relaxed and smile more.
I knew about the "must skate" rule, but not about whether they were paid, or it was involuntary servitude, so to speak.

Nice linkthank you!
Some skaters may have chosen to go home early.
Han Yan really needs to up his presentation, or understanding of music. Come on, it's la vie en rose, he didn't even crack a smile. Such beautiful program, great edge work and flow, just a pity his emotion/expression was not there. Nice body-line and body language though. Maybe he does not understand the lyric made a difference, but at least the rose should give him a clue at least![]()

I loved the cool move that Zhang/Moore-Towers/Bartholomay/Moscovitch performed near the end of the gala in Osaka.
All four were interconnected into what I would call one death spiral (as opposed to side by side death spirals of separate pairs).
Does the move have an official name?
I'm not sure, but the move used to be done in a competitive discipline we no longer have called Fours.
So it might be a Fours Death Spiral.
It keeps showing up in Galas every few years.
Thanks, Doris.
The Fours Death Spiral was enjoyable to watch, esp. because Zhang/Bartholomay have recently gotten my attention.![]()
