Because wow.

USA's Denney/Frazier WIN. Canadians Purdy and Marinaro second. Russians Fedorova/Moroshkin third.

Going by the normal placement rules, US gets three spots next year (1+9=10) as does Canada 2+6= 8) and Russia (3+5=8), but not China.

2 spots for China and Germany.

I really feel for Proelss/Blommaert. They might not have the most impressive technical arsenal yet but they skated two clean, secure very strong programs with well extended movements and I think they deserved to be 5th or 6th at least.

Woah, did not expect Denney and Frasier to win! I hope this is an indication of the things to come in U.S. pairs...

Fedorova & Miroshkin gave it away by not skating a good SP. They just had too far to climb being in 7th. But Denney & Frazier had a great performance.

I agree with Ziggy, it's an interesting podium with 3 very different teams. Great job to all of them.

Lina is still a bit headcasey, but they still have 2 more Seasons they are still very young
they will stay in Juniors next season ! she is still only 15 years old

I'm glad that North americans got 1 and 2:) It makes the future of their pairs promising. The more good pairs - the better for sport and competition!))congrats

I can see Pairs next year at US Nationals will be very competitive. Should be a lot more teams and much more depth.

hope none of the golden pairs get the juniors pairs curse
since the mid 2000's the only successful pairs turning seniors were junior silver medalists Bazarova/Larionov

ETA: they almost got the curse they were suspended for about a year after

I think Denney/Frazier and Fedorova/Miroshkin are very promising. Unless Fedorova doesn't survive puberty.

Not sure whether Purdy/Marinaro can successfully transition into Seniors, though, given how little height difference there is between them.

yes height between Denney/Frazier and Fedorova/Miroshkin are very ideal
the height similarities of Purdy/Marinaro will be troublesome, like what happened this season to Davankova/Deputat when Davankova grew so much and Deputat isnt that tall

are Denney/Frazier moving Seniors ?
Fedorova/Miroshkin will probably stay juniors for 2 more seasons Lina just turned 15 and Maxim is turning 18
