Should be interesting to see if Mirai Nagasu's Junior World Record of 65.07 for a SP score gets broken.

Hmmm... It could be, if Lena skates to her potential and the judges like her and give her 27-28 PCS...

    Rika HONGO (JPN)

Music: Samson and Delilah by Camille Saint-Saens

    3T+3T - solid landing
    3F
FCSp - positions could be sharper
    LSp
    StSq
    2A
    CCoSp

Strong clean skate! Should take the lead for now, easily.

    SP: 30.52 + 21.63 = 52.15
    in 1st (out of 27)

Loved Rika's steps, full of content but kept the speed which was key. I like her, she has big jumps but has some polish to do

    Yasmin SIRAJ (USA)

Music: Daphnis and Chloe by Maurice Ravel

3S+3T - bit shaky, but held onto landing, maybe 3T< on replay
3F - tilted, fall. Looked rotated on replay
    LSp
    StSq
    FCSp
2A - nice hop into jump
    CCoSp

Weak on the triple jumps, but nice spins and choreography

    SP: 27.27 + 21.38 - 1.00 = 47.65
    in 2nd (out of 28)

Siraj's jumps are terrible. I can't believe she was sent to this event while Angela Wang and Hannah Miller stayed home.

Rika was rock solid. I'd rather believe in her lead future than in someone else's in Baby Team Japan. She is pushy, confident, charismatic and skate big. Very different from all that rotten ice princess image. It's something that you need to beat Russian babies with their "Stay back!" stuff.

Yes, I don't understand the enthusiasm for Siraj at all.
