IIRC, the tech controller (or the specialist?) here is the same one from Jr. Worlds and is a known stickler. So she was not going to cut a break for anyone even Queen Yuna.

Ah, if so, I doubt anyone would crack 70 today. Even 65+ would be a high score.

Ladies PCS are usually lower, I think the World Record is around 34-35 and Yuna got 33, so PCS wise, she was scored pretty well

Yes, Carolina Kostners PCS from Worlds last year was only 30, so 33 is pretty decent.

Solid skate from Frank, she should be proud of that. But please in the future, no illusion fabric or suntan tights.

Well, I guess it's up to Wagner, Kostner, and Asada now. But the judges may have left a margin for error in case the others skate better.

I agree. The spins weren't that spectacular.

I'm glad this competition isn't yet a runaway; it makes it far more interesting.

I agree with this. I love Yuna but I've seen her do better. She should not have run away with the lead with that skate though I would not have complained if she had cracked 70. And if she is being held back a bit I think it has far less to do with Osmond and more to do with it being the year of Mao vs Carolina. I think this score should hold up for top 3 for sure.

same Tech Person ???

Carolina will get a higher PCS for sure
looking like the Mao-Carolina-Yuna-Osmond battle I predicted

.62 less than she got at the Olympics and this was not at that level. She was let down by the TES today.

I can't help but feel that if Yuna remained with Orser that skate would have gone over 75

Wait, i'm confused - because Canadians would still be friendly to Yuna, or because Orser would have coached her better than her current Korean coaches?

If Yuna is serious about winning in Sochi she needs to get some top flight coaches for next season. Aren't her coaches the ones she had as a kid?

Actually, I've enjoyed Osmond's program the most so far. At least she had some personality out there. Yu-Na did what she had to do.

Okay I was wrong, not the same one from Jr. Worlds, but I remember someone mentioning the tech panel included a few sticklers.

On the other hand..I still think someone can crack 200 for total score. Yuna did it with lower score for her SP at Nationals, she might be able to deliver clean FS again:) But it seems like judges are being even more strict with skaters since 2013 Jr.Worlds.

Yuna looked quite nervous, I can see why she wasn't scored so well. Not even breaking 70 was a bit too much, though.

At least I'm happy she managed to do everything clean.

Wow. Yuna's performance was much more refined than her earlier performances this season. To those who watched the broadcast, you could see this got a wide standing ovation. I have to say, 69 is bit too low... this was more in the range of 72+.

It's asinine. Are they holding up Osmond for a medal? Bleh. No wonder people talk about the Canadian judges and events.

That's a bit unfair don't you think? Osmond skated really well, with fire, attitude and pizzazz. I can't speak to the issue with Canadian judges.

But I don't think Yuna is going to break 145 in the FS.

ETA: Sorry, she'd only need 130. If she's completely clean, she should be able to pull it off.
