You all know I've been waiting to post this thread ever since the men's one was posted... I do love me the ladies!!!

So seeded for 2 spots we have

Yuna KIM
Carolina KOSTNER
Mao ASADA
Kanako MURAKAMI
Ashley WAGNER
Gracie GOLD

Zijun LI (woo hoo!)
Kaetlyn OSMOND
Adelina SOTNIKOVA
Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA
Mae Berenice MEITE
Akiko SUZUKI (whew!)

I kind of am not sure if Yuna Kim will take a pass or not. Ditto Carolina. So this is between 20 and 24 spots taken.

Who else is likely to nab two spots?? Skaters in the top 24 World Standings not on the above list include Korpi, Helgesson (X2), Lipntskaia, Czisny (yup, even after the update), Li, Meite, Makarova, Leonova, Gedevainishvili, Nagasu, Gao, Lacoste, and Zawadzki. So that is 14 more spots taken for a total of 34 to 38 spots taken (less if some, like Makarova, are done or choose not to compete).

I'm gonna let someone else tell me who has the 24 highest scores because these don't seem to be updated and I am not up on this stuff the way, say, Mrs P. is :)

What about seasons best list? Top 24 can all get a GP right? There are lots of juniors on that list so I guess a lot depends on who moves up, like Wang, Miller, Radionova, Pogorilaya, Miyahara...

I did a quick calculation of the Ladies World Rankings after Worlds 2013 with the old data scrubbed.
Here are the top 24 (Note: this may change slightly after the last 4 International Bs of the year [Printemps, Mladost, Triglav and Gardena]). Names in bold are already guaranteed 2 events because they finished top 12 at Worlds.

1 Carolina KOSTNER
2 Mao ASADA
3 Akiko SUZUKI
4 Ashley WAGNER

5 Viktoria HELGESSON
6 Adelina SOTNIKOVA
7 Kanako MURAKAMI
8 Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA

9 Alena LEONOVA
10 Zijun LI
11 Julia LIPNITSKAIA
12 Mae Berenice MEITE
13 Kiira KORPI
14 Gracie GOLD
15 Agnes ZAWADZKI
16 Christina GAO
17 Valentina MARCHEI
18 Elene GEDEVANISHVILI
19 Joshi HELGESSON
20 Amelie LACOSTE
21 Polina KOROBEYNIKOVA
22 Yuna KIM
23 Mirai NAGASU
24 Elena GLEBOVA

Alissa Czisny is no longer in the top 24. She had no scores from this season, the 2011-2012 scores were reduced to 70%, and the 2010-2011 scores were removed.

The top 24 Seasons Best list. Names in bold are top 12 at Worlds. Note that this list may change slightly after World Team Trophy, as scores there are eligible for the SB list.

So I know I really should know the rules better (as my original post proves), but am I correct that if you have a spot both on the top 24 WR and top 24 SB list you are nonetheless only guaranteed one GP spot? Or does that mean you have 2?

The only skaters guaranteed two events are the top 12 at Worlds. Skaters who are top 24 on both lists have a better shot at getting two, but it's not guaranteed. That's what happened when they cut back the singles event from 12 to 10, and dance from 10 to 8.

Last season, there were a few skaters who weren't top 24 on either list who got invitations, and some who were on both lists who got just one.

That's what I understood/thought. Thank you!
