See this is why Ashley's been playing it safe all season. A two-foot on a gutsy 3-3 combo at the tail end of the season and you get hammered. Damn that axel though.

Oh no - Mao falls on the 3A attempt!

And a big fall. It didn't look rotated. 3F-2L looked a bit labored, 3Loop was fine. She should not be close to Adelina IMO
The axel looked 3A<< on replay:disapp:

Wow, behind Ashley, that's unexpected!

3A looked <<, 3F was close (we will see the protocol). Ashley skated better. And I am a big Mao fan. I am glad to see her scored correctly. Even she nodded when she saw the scores. I think NHK trophy left not only us with a bad taste, but even her. She does not look the kind of a person who likes to be overscored. She knows what she did and her placement is fair.

No 3+3 combi, but a good skate from Akiko. Looked very determined, and was obviously looking to make amends for her poor performance at Worlds

I would place that 2nd overall

Dynamic skate by Akiko. I don't follow ladies skating much now, but this is why I love her.
