Michelle has been tapped for the Board of Directors of the Boston Olympic Bid Committee, which is trying to bring the 2024 Summer Olympic Games to Boston. She joins other famous Boston athletes such as the Celtics' Larry Bird and the Red Sox' David Ortiz. (I guess they figure that Rhode island close enough for Michelle to be an honorary Bostonian. :) )

I seem to recall that Michelle attended the Fletcher School of Diplomacy at Tufts? If so, I'll give her brownie points for a Boston connection in the past ;).

And here she is today in Boston with another newly selected board member, distance runner Meb Keflezighi. He is a big Boston hero, too, (although he lives and trains in San Diego) by winning the Boston marathon in 2014, the year after the bombing attack. He was the first American to win the race in 30 years. He and Michelle take some time away from their Board of Director's meeting to interact with local children.

Here is Michelle leading a fitness day at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington, D.C., ahead of the annual meeting of the board directors of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. The meeting will be live-streamed by the State Department from 9:00 to 1:30 tomorrow. (I know you all will be tuning in -- we can have a GS play-by-play of Michelle's remarks. :yes: )

Alex pretends he doesn't recognize her. Michelle having fun learning dances with Maia, Alex from some of the girls in the program.

I doubt that's true. I always check in here when I see new posts but it is a bit strange considering how active and visible she is that there aren't more posters commenting. Glad you keep a close eye on her so that I and others can be informed. Sasha and Michelle were the first two skaters to capture my attention and draw me to the sport. It was a very interesting time in to follow the sport and I'll never forget them.

This is from KOMO TV in Seattle, the "Northwest Afternoon" show, with Elissa Jaffe. If you just let the video play, the other two parts of the interview follow. By the way, if this video is an indication, Michelle really improved her diction since she started making speeches for the State Department.
