Out of the 100+ athletes at the Team USA media summit, the subject of the USOC's day-in-the-life story is none other than Max Aaron.
Promoting His Sport To The Max
Full report on Max's very busy and enjoyable day at the USOC media summit.
Look forward to seeing all the forthcoming coverage of Max that is based on his interviews and shoots yesterday.
- He can squat 315 pounds.
- He was a pretty serious drum player from the time he was in fifth grade until he was in eighth grade. Playing the drums for one interview was a highlight of the day.
Max's reaction to being interviewed by Michelle Kwan for Fox Sports 1:
Later in the day, at about 5 p.m., Aaron was getting prepped for a TV interview with Fox Sports 1. What made this interview different from the rest is that the interviewer was none other than Michelle Kwan. Although Aaron had met Kwan, the nine-time U.S. champion and two-time Olympic medalist, in brief meetings before, he had never had a sit down chat with the skating legend until this moment. ....Love the good son's sweet reference to his mother.
Afterward, he [walked] out of the hotel room and said, “That was truly neat. I remember meeting her once at a Champions on Ice show and always admired her. But to sit down and share my passion for the sport with her … wow. I have to say that was really neat. I’m glad they recorded it because maybe I can show it to my mom.”
Max Aaron's interview was the first topic that Michelle Kwan discussed (for a good two-and-a-half minutes
) in her Google+ Hangout (Oct 1). Sounds as if they had some good bonding moments. Lucky Max -- and lucky Michelle
