I assume they are filling the vacancy caused by the injury to Smirnov. Best wishes to him.

    It's a shame Leonova didn't get replaced. :(

Could someone explain why they sent Abbott/Miner/Farris to compete against Hanyu/Chan/Brezina/Oda? OMG. I cannot even guess what the standings will be - specifically whether Abbott will meet the expectations or whether he will fail miserably landing last.. It seems highly likely that the Canadians D/R will win pairs and that their countrymen V/M will win the ice dancing portion this time. Akiko for gold and grand prix final hopefully!!

Well Skate Canada extended the invite, so I guess they're the ones to blame.

I doubt Jeremy will be last. It's pretty likely that he'll easily beat the other two Canadian men. And he can beat Mura even without a quad if he doesn't make other errors.

USFS isn't sending any skaters. The spots are allocated to skaters based on the results of 2013 Worlds and the 2013-2014 World Standings and skaters are seeded, so that for example you never get current gold and silver world championships medallists at the same event.
