Satoko Miyahara

A bit surprised to see Satoko's name here, because JSF said they would be closely minitoring Miki so that they would save this spot for her for the last minute's entry, I thought...

Ando was removed from the national team in January. Reportedly it was her voluntary withdrawal. There is no development to reinstate her status since then. As long the rule goes, they can assign only national team athletes to international competitions.

Ando is supposed to be monitored at Kanto regionals and Eastern Japan sectionals. Upon considering her scores and technical contents (just winning is not enough), they will decide whether she can be reinstated, and assigned to a senior B competition in order to gain the (Olympic) minimum scores. If she failed the test, she will lose any chance for Sochi regardless of the results at Japanese nationals.

Menshov got GP Event because he is in Top24 WS (18th).
Second GP Events (except Top12 of Worlds) are given by Season Best.
Only Top21 of Season Best got 2nd Event, for other were not free spots.
22nd Jason Brown and 23rd Menshov have only one GP Event, the same for all the others who have one GP Event because of WS or podium of JrWorlds or as Home Spot, but lower than 21st place in Season Best list.

Compared to CoC, these entries are mind-boggling, especially in dance and ladies. Gonna be an awesome competition.

7 & 8. Alena Leonova or Valentina Marchei
9. Elene Gedevanishvili
10. Zijun Li (She probably hasn't recovered from her injury/puberty issues... :( )

I know... I tend to keep my hopes too high for the skaters whom I like but who have disappointed me in the past, so I don't get sad... :)

I actually thought about that. She probably should have withdrawn from COC. After the competition she said COC was the first time she performed the LP in full.

I have a feeling that Satoko Miyahara is going to score high, even though I don't really like her. She is another junior lady who has tiny jumps but great consistency. :sarcasm:

Yeah. Probably there is not enough time to replace her, which stinks.

I'm curious to see who will take the silver and gold. Mao will win gold, unless she bomb badly. Akiko already had silver so another silver is a guarantee spot for GPF. Rodinova and Gold will need a silver at least to have a chance for final with tie breaker.

Too bad about Zijun. I'm so looking forward to NHK, finally a competition with full ranks and enthusiastic figure skating fans!

It all depends on the tech team. Aside from the tiny jumps, Miyahara is a chronic underrotater, far worse than Murakami.

Miyahara's JW FS: 3ze+3t<, 3f<, 3lo<, 2a, 2a+3t<, 3ze<, 3s<+2t+2t
