Wow-seems like this competition would be fun to watch, especially since pretty much all of top US skaters/dancers would be competing.

From the list it looks like a mini Nationals. Even Davis&White will be there.

When the event is actually skated, discussion should go in the thread golden411 just linked to,

Heard that for the first time ISU IDTC required Ice Dance Controllers to recertify their positions by taking a 34 question exam which was held recently in Frankfurt, Germany. Also heard that none of the top five countries in ice dance will have a member from that country on the technical panel for OWG, which means no tech controller or specialists from USA, Canada, Russia, Italy, France.

Just as long as there's no TCs from UKR, BLR, UZB, EST, etc.

Yes, Zawadzki -- none other than the returning champion from last year's event.

A bit off-topic, but here's a new blog post from Meryl Davis. She mentions how she & Charlie are looking forward to the Salt Lake senior B and SkateAmerica in Detroit:

I know this is kind of nationalistic, but I must say I'm proud to have a team like Meryl & Charlie representing America. They're great role models for younger skaters--thoughtful, well-spoken, and accomplished.
