I'm SO happy for Miki, and I hope Lena will win... Gold for Lena and silver for Miki would be the perfect result for me!

Pairs SP starting order
Warm-Up Group 3

9 Natasha PURICH / Mervin TRAN CAN
10 Narumi TAKAHASHI / Ryuichi KIHARA JPN

 I sincerely hope both Narumi and Tran, respectively, retain their composure and are able to concentrate on their own performances.

Here is my wish at Nebelhorn:
-Both the Reeds and Takahashi/Kihara to do well and place high enough to get qualified for Olympics.
-All Australian skaters to do well and place high enough to get qualified for the Olympics Team Event.
-Tran with his new partner to get on the podium! ;) because Tran is forever my sentimental favorite :yes:, with millions of my 'thank-you', for all his devotions, contributions, hard work, and his sweet smiles and bitter-sweet tears;;;;

Another wish of rather ill-side of me: Miki to land all her jumps including gorgeous 3Lz of course, just to shut up all nay-sayers mouth.

Is that possible?
Yes.
Skaters with stable jumps always at practice perform more complicated jumps and combos than at competitions.

Simpler content at competition gives stability.

AFAIK Gracie Gold at practice performs 3+3+3 combos and URed 3A.

Uhm, Miki seems alright to me I also didnt see a triple triple, but as said she really didnt do that much. I did not see a triple, triple, triple of Elena, but I am not a jumping specialist either triple triple double seems more plausible to me.

At 2011 she won Worlds without 3+3 Combo both in SP and FS.

Ice Dance Practice Session

Group 1

On the Ice were, Ksenia Monko / Kirill Khaliavin Russia, Madison Hubbell / Zachary Donohue USA, Shari Koch / Christian Nüchtern from Germany + 1 other couple that I lost track of :(

As I was eating not much to say sorry :)

But I saw the Russian program and it looked really well, loved their expressions in the face through out their whole performance, I definately think that Russia wont run out on good Ice Dancers any time soon.
The german pair sadly had a big mistake during one of their Twizzles - Christian fell :(

Group 2

On the Ice were from Israel Allison Reed / Vasili Rogov, Justyna Plutowska / Peter Gerber Poland, Danielle Orbien / Gregory Merriman Australia, Xintong Huang / Xun Zheng China and from Finland Henne Lindholm / Ossi Kanervo.

I am quite a fan of Henna and Ossi, love their speed and they really make a good pair. In my opinion they often get too few points. Their SD was definately after my taste, also great outfit and lovely no touch sequence.
The polish couple was also lovely to watch, men should wear pink more often in my opinion - loved their chemistry on the ice, nice tempo change during their routine as well.

I also want to mention the Chinese pair, not as fast as other couples but they are still very much in sync in their movements.

Group 3

On the Ice were Reed´s from Japan, Sara Hurtado / Adria Diaz Spain, Kira Geil / Tobias Eisenbauer Austria, Gabriela Kubova / Matej Novak Cezka and from Georgia Angelina Telegina / Otar Japaridze.

Sarah & Adria are one of the most loved couples among figure skating fans, their chemistry on the ice is magikal and yes I like their SD - lovely lift quite late in the routine, the sequences looked ok too. They have some funny elements build in as well, some type of Clown & jumping jack. Talking about funny, the Austrians in 2013 were fantastic with their intepretation of Haxen & Madels - their programm now is a bit more serious, at least the SD. Still lovely to watch.
The czech couple was the only one that did perform a FD so far, which was also very enjoyable just like the other 2 couples were.

Group 4

Group 4

On the Ice were, Pilar & Leonardo Mexiko, Federica Testa / Lukas Csolley Slovakia, Lesia Volodenikova / Vital Vakunov Belarus, Irina Shtork / Taayi Rand Estonia and from Hungary Dora Turocz /Balazs Major

Very interesting group because I noticed that quite a few choreographie´s seem to be heavily inspired by the german pair Nelly & Alex. The Belarusian pair also skated to Corpse Bride. I dont want to criticise that, but I honestly think that those original and funny choregraphies of the germans had quite some impact on some of the pairs, not only in this group.

Nevertheless the first music part of the Belarusian team was fantastic, it was quite laid back and romantic :)

The Mexican pair also in pink and the Hungarian in blue were my favorites. Both Ladies with some type of Tiara, Dora added to that a feather which looked really lovely. To me they both really looked as a team throughout their routine and also the contact to the audience (us 30 people) was there.

Group 5

Group 5

Last group now; on the Ice were from the Ukraine Siobhan Heekin-Canedy /Dimitri Dun, Ramona Elsener / Florian Roost Switzerland and last but not least from Turkie Alisa Agafanova / Alper Ucar. The couple from Uzbekistan Elizaveta / Viktor did not show up.

The couple from the Ukraine tends to have very interesting programs, like the one with the Titanic soundtrack some time ago, damn they were so on fire there! They did practise their SD and it was compared to what firework they can start relatively laid back, but funny :)
Florian & Ramona (great pink - glitter dress) had a very good practice I would say. Their sequenzes were really tight and risky, but also the look in the crowd was there. There are now maybe about 15 people, pity for the skaters - seriously why is that practice so late.... They could had started a lot earlier than 9 this morning, but I guess they didnt want to throw the boys out of their beds that early.

Next is the pairs practice that will close around midnight. :rolleye:

Excatly!! So again i wont be able to watch miki live anywhere???

Miki starts in the first group as 4th. Skater, maybe some Japanese TV Channel does broadcast? There are some Japanese press people here. Best bet is probably some russian Channel, they tend to always broadcast full - or what about Ice Network?

Practice Session Pairs

Group 1

On the Ice were, Mari Vartmann / Aaron van Cleace, Maylin & Daniel Wende andAnabelle Prölss / Ruben Blommaert all Germany.

A full group of Germans, all age groups present. Mari & Aaron were first with their FS, they only performed a few of their elements. Family Wende performed their whole programm with a very high triple throw - Maylin had to work hard on the landing though.

Annabelle & Ruben practiced their SP and you really have to give credit where credit is due, Annabelle even though just 14 has a really great attitude on the ice already and they really have a great harmony in their skate.

Group 2

On the Ice were from Spain Veronica Grigorieva / Aritz Maestu, Elizaveta Usmantseva / Roman Talan Ukraine, Maria Paliakova / Nikita Bochkov Belarus and from Estonia Natalia Zabijakova / Alexandr Zaboev.

All except the pair from the Ukraine did perform their FS. I really enjoyed Natalia and Alexandr who were skating to conquest of paradise and yes their FS opened the gate to paradise for me. They look so lovely together even in random grey colours and the choreopgraphie worked very good with the music and their attitude on the ice. Definately looking forward to their programms during the competition.

I also want to mention Maria & Nikita - in my eyes she is a lovely skater - the programm is really nice and they are on a steady move forward. I enjoyed them a lot during the previous years, especially at Zagreb where they scored a new PB. Lets hope they get a clean programm, they deserve it!

Group 3

On the Ice were from the UK Stacey Kemp / David King, Elizaveta Makarova / Leri Kenchadze Bulgaria and from Poland Magdalena Klatka / Radoslaw Chruscinski. The pair from Turkie did not start.

Stacey and David struggled a bit, but I am confident they will improve during competition. All did practice their SP.

Group 4

On the Ice were from Sweden Ronja Roll / Gustav Forsgren, Andrea Davidovich / Evgeni Krasnopolski, Miriam Ziegler / Severin Kiefer Austria and Nam I Song without his partner So Hyang Pakv Peoples repuplic of Korea.

First of all I have to say that I am a really big fan of Ronja and Gustav. Yes they will never win a medal, trophy etc. but dont they look absolutely charming together? The way how he cares for her on the ice, seriously who needs triple Axels etc. if you have this? I wish pairs would also get points for these type of things but unfortunately not. They kissed the ice alot in the practice but honestly I dont care! Great pair!

The opening scene of the Austrian pair is very charming as well! A special remark also goes to Andrea and Evgeni, really cute SP loved her smile during the routine. Was a great joy to watch!

Now there is one last group to go including Maxim and Tatjana, we also hit ghost hour very soon :)

Group 5

Final group, on the Ice were Maxim Trankov / Tatiana Volososzhar Russia, Lindsay Davis / Rockne Brubaker USA, Natasha Purich / Michael Marinaro from Canada and Narumi Takahashi / Ryuichi Kihara Japan

To make things short, Tatjana and Maxim didnt perform a lot at that late hour - a few lifts and some steps, funny was that a part of their music fits well to the ghost hour :D The lift where Maxim has his hand on her back is really great, I dont think I have ever seen something like that before.

The US, Canadian and Japanese pair did run almost the full routine. No major mistakes in my opinion, really looking forward to all their programms.

Thats it for me today, good night :D

I was hoping that the Russians Novik/Noveltsov competing for Romania would get released by the Russian Fed but as they have disappeared from the startlist I guess not. I would like to see the couple from Belarus do well and grab an olympic spot. I hope it goes well for the Turks even if qualifying may be beyond them.

Thx, Finnstep.
Purich/Tran are followed immediately by Takahashi/Kihara, I see.
Although I hope that the Japanese will qualify for Sochi, I'm cheering esp. for Tran.

I saw that too! How weird a coincidence to have Takahashi and Tran skating back to back and in the same warm-up group. Hoping the best for both of them though. :)
