While it's hard to be a "fan" before seeing them in competition, this partnership looks very promising. They do a good job of playing a story and integrating the difficult elements in. The one-handed lifts look phenomenal--long and effortless. They seem to have a bit of trouble with the throws and of course their movements aren't in perfect synch yet, but it's incredible they're already attempting those difficult elements. Best wishes to the both of them.

And lol, the dress with the gigantic stars all over it. Never change, Aliona!

Kind of sad that there wasn't even a fan fest thread for Aliona & Robin. Anyway, I think Aliona and Bruno look surprisingly good together and I'm curious how they will actually fare in a real competition. I will miss Robin but I wish S/M all the best.

Just wanted to share some recent photos of Aljona, Bruno and Ingo that combine my 2 main sporting passions – motorbike racing and figure skating!

The first photo is from Aljona and Bruno's Facebook Fan Page

For those that do not follow bike racing, this photo was taken on the grid of the Moto3 race at the Sachsenring last weekend. Sitting on the bike in the background is Basque rider Efren Vazquez, who is riding the Racing Team Germany Honda.

Racing Team Germany is based at the Sachsenring and is run by former 250GP rider Dirk Heidolf, who is actually from Hohenstein. So, it is a proper Saxony operation through and through... Just like Ingo’s team!

In the race, Vazquez finished 6th, one place ahead of his team-mate John McPhee (from Scotland). This was a great result for the team, as both riders were a lot further down the grid than usual (Vazquez in 17th, McPhee in 28th) after rain effectively brought a premature end to qualifying on Saturday.

But, despite this great recovery, I am sure Efren would have been disappointed that he was as far as 25 seconds behind the leading group. Vazquez is not a rider that is used to battling with the 2nd Division – he is normally up with the leaders in the Premier League.

RTG also posted this photo on their own Fan Page on Facebook, along with a whole album of photos of Aljona, Bruno and Ingo:

    Hope you like them

If these pair competes at the Olympics 2018, Aljona would be the first figure skater ever to take place in 5 Olympic Games (with 3 different partners). And perhaps she will win her third olympic medal (like shen/zhao and plushenko).

they did not have enough money to pay Ingo Steuer, but nevertheless i expect them to try huch lifts an especially great throws. perhaps 3ATh, 4Tw, 4STh, 4FTh, (4ATh)

Any updates on the release issue?

I hope the german federation is right and that Bruno will be release next season.

It has come to me that Didier Gailhaguet is shooting himself in the foot with the zero release policy.
What skater in their right mind is going choose skate for France and be fixed to France forever?
Only the desparate will do so.

So sadly the gap behind P/C in France will keep huge one, as Gailhaguet will not be able attracting top skaters to skate for France.
Way to go Didier! you are either a complete idiot or hell bent on destroying French ice skating in your quest to become ISU president.

If he become ISU president, I will have to find another sport to follow as this one will be dead. RIP Figure skating

It seems there is no news about Massot's release, so I doubt that they really can compete at GP series next season, but might compete at Europeans and Worlds...

I don't know whether anyone has posted it already, but here is their new short program they showed in Stuttgart in December:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eekVui48BlU

Triple Twist is huge and seems to be better than what V/T performed last year. The throw is double footed and does not look so confident as she did it with Robin.

I think it is easier to perform a solid twist than performing a solid throw after chancing the Partner...aljona and Robin's flip began to become huge in 2007, in the third year of their partnerchip. Now she plans to perform the quadrouple flip with bruno.

The German Assocciation looks forward and hopes to get Bruno's release in March (i read in the news).

Any updates on this team? Sucks that they can't compete on the GP series, but what's their future? Damn French fed....

Nothing. Bruno Massot's mother is always angry against FFSG... I understand some of its arguments, some not ! The sports policy has changed recently in France and the sportsmen will have a new status.

Also posting my article from the edge here,

Bruno and Aljona skate together since April 2014, but skating is not exactly correct as both are not allowed to compete or skate shows. Therefore the pair is unable to get sponsors or generate any income. Both do practice at Oberstdorf, to make their big dream come true, to compete for Germany at the Olympics! Unfortunately, this can only happen if the French Federation lets Bruno go. This however, seems to be not possible right now.

As the DEU mentioned in a recent announcement, the FFSG demanded at first 70.000 Euro for his release and now still 30.000 Euro. That amount of money however, the DEU is unable to provide, leaving Bruno and Aljona no other choice than to wait for the mercy of the French Federation. Said Federation however, seems to not want him go, as they fear sanctions if too many skaters leave their country.

To help Aljona and Bruno, fans and family created a petition with currently 1700 entries. It´s called "let the skaters skate". Besides that, people can donate money to keep them going, but as it seems, only the French Federation can let him go, even the ISU refused to step in after a recent council meeting at Lausanne and gave the case back into the hands of the FFSG.
