2003-04 Pairs Short Program Discrepancy

FROM USFSA
Note: There is no individual link to this update:

Junior and senior pairs teams and coaches, please note: There is a discrepancy in USFSA SSRs 5.02 and 5.03 Paragraph B.1. (Group A), subparagraph (h), concerning the footwork sequence requirement in the short program for junior and senior pairs in 2003-04. USFSA rules for group A require a spiral step sequence; ISU rules for Group A {Rule 313, paragraphs 4 and 5 (Group A) subparagraph (h) of Special Regulations for Figure Skating} require just a step sequence (straight line, circular or serpentine), NOT a spiral step sequence. Since USFSA rules are taken from and intended to be the same as the ISU rules, all junior and senior pairs teams, whether domestic or international, should include a step sequence, NOT a spiral step sequence, in their short programs for the 2003-04 season.
