 Poor Max.

I hope this means there's going to be one of their famous videos from Champs Camp!

Also, the Shibutanis. Alex has so much star power!

Not "poor Max" but actually LUCKY Max! He got to "star" in his "own" SHIBSIBS vid. Pretty coveted opportunity.
Ross and Adam had better get their agents on the phone ASAP to make sure they get cast for future features and VLOGS!

Given all the concept and production credits, something tells me it is actually Maia who holds a lot of the power to "pull the casting strings"

LOL, Miner already starred in a recent ShibSibs video -- the one taped on summer vacation in Hawaii with the plot based on Boitano's cookbook.
And IIRC, I think Rippon starred in the very first ShibSibs production, which was a music video.

But yes, Aaron clearly has arrived as an alpha male ;) among Team USA skaters -- starring at his first Champs Camp opposite the matinee idol Charlie White, no less.
Aaron had said back during his reddit AMA that the ShibSibs and he were talking about a video, but little did I expect that Aaron would be introduced in such a tour-de-force role. (I guess his agent knew how to win over media mogul Maia.)

cute video but really what is MAX thinking with that hair?? Johnny Weir and Daisuke Takahahsi have a cat fight or run into each other at the local Saks Fifth Avenue and gith over a designer bag and this is what you get? Okay enough snarking but really I am not sure what look he is going for but it isn't a good one for skating or...It is rather distracting.

I think it may be conflict of interest for Max to sit on that committee, don't you? ;)

It was the original committee ... before a sudden expansion (where Meryl Davis and others were added on) and then an overthrow. Judging by that one guy's seating arrangement as the left hand of the left hand (yes, you are reading that correctly) of Charlie White, I would say that he had fallen out of favor.

Then again, seating arrangements can be deceiving. The real boss in that room is Maia Shibutani. Charlie White may just be her mouthpiece. :p

"Meanie Maia" ;) must have noticed that everyone was obeying her order to look straight at the camera for the still photo, with the exception of one inattentive maverick gazing upward and daydreaming about competing in Sochi ... as a member of USA's hockey squad. This transgression would prove costly.

On the subject of Champs Camp (but nothing to do with the ShibSibs video):

@AshWagner2010 tweeted a goofy/sweet mini-version of the class photo that I think was previously unseen:

And in AW's Instagram, I love also how Maia and Mirai each contributed one hand to form a heart together.

(ICYMT, other versions of the Champs Camp class photo that were previously available:

Jason Brown remains adorable.

BTW ... if you haven't read Brown's summer recap blog, he included good behind-the-scenes information on what happens at Champs Camp, as well as adorable comments. Excerpt:

I had an incredible time at Champs Camp last week. Since it was my first time, I had no expectations; I was just dying to be a part of it!
Camp began with the Team USA group photo, which for years I've seen in SKATING Magazine, dreaming of the day I would get the honor to be in that photo. Then came Scott Hamilton's keynote speech. ....
The following day, all the skaters performed their short programs. One thing unique to Champs Camp is that no one, other than the officials and select staff, is allowed to watch the practices or performances, not even the other skaters. So, when I went out to do my short program, I had no idea what the setting of the simulated competition was going to look like. It turned out that it was extremely chill: Officials scattered in the stands watching, talking amongst themselves and taking notes on their thoughts of the program.
The following day were the free skates, and the last two days were on-ice evaluations and talking about Sochi.
Throughout the week, we all had individual schedules where we met one on one with a nutritionist and a sports psychologist, had media training, met with packaging specialists (discussing costumes, "hair," etc.), did photo/video promo shoots and met with judges and U.S. officials to go over our new programs.
On Friday night, we had a team-building exercise ....
The camp was such a special experience, and I can't begin to express how fortunate I feel to have been a part of it this year.

Skate Canada's High Performance Camp will take place later this week. Although no chance of a ShibsSibs video :eek:hwell:, I hope some photos and skater reactions will be forthcoming.

I agree, that new hair isn't doing Max any favors. I wonder if that was his idea or someone else's. One thing I really enjoy about Max is his masculinity...and that hairstyle is anything but.
