Long time lurker here.

Just noticed this for Ms. Cohen. I think the pricing is for private and one-off coaching sessions. You'd think this would also be on her website, but it isn't.

Anyhow, it got me thinking. What other skaters are offering coaching sessions and where? I see Emily and Sarah Hughes post all of the time on IG, so I know that they are big with Skating Club of New York, even though they don't teach.

I know Jenny Kirk teaches somewhere in Boise. Kimmie Meissner is in Delaware, where I think she coaches and attends school ... Others?

Dorothy Hamill has had sort of an adult-fantasy skating camp for a few years I believe. I think Skating Magazine (US) did an article on this not so long ago, and for a lot of adult skaters, many of whom grew up watching and enjoying the sport during Dorothy's peak, it's a real treat.

Welcome, JD.

I wonder if Sasha knows she's on the list of sports celebrities that this outfit claims to represent. ;)

Welcome, JDpinstripes. What an interesting question. Gee, I'd love to have a coaching session with--hmmm...Kurt Browning, probably. I barely skate, but I'd just ask him to show me steps and moves and I'd practice my main skill: getting gooseflesh from watching an artist at work. I'd bring a hanky so I could cry if the footwork got especially glorious. An hour of that would set me up for years to come.

These guys are offering Michelle Kwan for $20,000 to $40,000. (I am pretty sure Michelle never heard of them. )

Sound fly-by-night? Here are some more:

I get a kick out of the ones that say they can get you a speaker "like" Michelle Kwan. :)

But this one is my favorite – the Godiva Speakers Bureau. (It doesn’t say what kind of performance Michelle will do for you.)

The answer is a resounding Yes. Cohen not only knows about her presence on thuzio, but also she will gladly laugh all the way to the bank. (Nothing wrong with that.)
Cohen actively promoted her offerings available on thuzio when she conducted her recent reddit AMA.
The other purpose of her reddit AMA was to promote Snoxx, her entrepreneurial venture selling her invention of socks that snap together (or I think that is the concept).
Both commercial links were included in her introductory comments on reddit, IIRC.
Cohen also artfully wove thuzio into at least one of her answers, even though no redditors had asked about it.
A couple of questions did mention Snoxx by name, and as a good businesswoman, Cohen was happy (I assume) to respond to those as well.

Thuzio is a reputable company, actually. Many many very famous and revered athletes in all sports are on there. But 40K for Tara to accompany you golfing?! That's absurd!

Absurd to you and me, but I would imagine that some wealthy oil magnate might fork out the money for his wife's or daughter's sake. Look at how much some people spend on their four-year-olds' birthday parties. I think some really top notable people (such as ex-presidents) can make six-figure fees for a single public speaking engagement.

I am not wise in the ways of public speaking arrangements, but is it possible that a celebrity might be registered with more than one agency for maximum coverage?

About the size of public speaking fees: here's a rather outdated list of the ten highest paid speakers. Ronald Reagan is on here...and so is Lance Armstrong. But I imagine that the size of the fees has remained about the same.

A Middle Eastern prince paid $500,000 just to sit next to Kristen Stewart (of Twilight fame) for fifteen minutes for the Hurricane Sandy relief effort once. You never know.

Is it known whether Tara is actually any good at playing golf?
What's in the fine print as far as what is permitted when one signs up for one of these? Can you post pics to your social media accounts? etc....?

Why would someone pay $1250 for a lesson with Sasha? There are many reputable coaches, some former celebrities themselves, that would charge a much lower rate. There are clinics and camps hosted by celebrities too. I guess if you were obsessed with Sasha and intent on meeting her, this is your chance.

What does the $5,000 appearance fee involve? Do you mingle with guests, take photos, sign autographs? Just sit there and let people look at you? It's another $5,000 to "hear their story." What if someone asked Sasha's story during the appearance, would she demand another $5,000 before answering? What if an extra, 21st guest showed up?

It's interesting how Tara's fee is double Sasha's. ($10,000) That gold medal is worth a lot more than silver.

The video message from Sasha for $99 seems to be a good deal and would thrill most people to receive as a surprise.
