Mysterious unsolved plane crash in Lake Michigan

This now-forgotten case has always fascinated me. Finding the cause would be nice but since it is so log ago hat seems beyone reach.

I find these stories interesting but planes are very small and Lake Michigan/ the Pacific ocean is very large...At the Oshkosh Flyin this year, they someone brought a fighter aircraft from WWII than crashed in Lake Michigan and was recently found.

Someday, technology will produce a way to find Emila Earheart 's plane and the 1,000s of other planes in the ocean...but not just yet.....
(A jet trainer was lost over the Cascade Mts for 9 months a few years ago...it was found by a hiker, If I remember right....)
